Cake and Cocktails

December 3, 2021 

100 + Students, Alumni, Faculty, and Former Deans gathered on the Car Barn patio. Dean Hellman, Director Shambaugh, the first female MSFS graduate, and our first Futures Scholar gave speeches to the crowd while an open bar and catered appetizers were enjoyed. Posters around the patio shared stories of the beginnings of MSFS and historical graduates.

Venezuelan Crisis: Assessment and Solutions

October 20, 2022 

MSFS students discussed the origins of  the Venezuelan crisis and explored possible solutions with a panel of experts, which included James Story, U.S. Ambassador to Venezuela; Luis Almagro, Secretary General of the Organization of American States; Carlos Vecchio, Venezuelan Ambassador to the U.S.; and Dr. Fabiana Perera, Professor at the William J. Perry Center for Hemispheric Defense Studies. Each panelist had 5 minutes to present their assessments. A moderator then guided a half-hour conversation amongst the panelists on different aspects of the crisis. This was followed by a half-hour question and answer session from MSFS students.
