The Master of Science in Foreign Service (MSFS) program partners with the Open Society Foundations (OSF) to offer Civil Society Leadership Awards (CSLA) scholarships to students from developing countries. This partnership contributes to our institutions’ common mission of giving the opportunity to pursue graduate training at one of the world’s top-ranked programs in global affairs to underrepresented students dedicated to advancing positive social change in their home countries.

The partnership will also increase the international and socioeconomic diversity of the MSFS program, building global connections and expanding the inclusive community of our student cohort.

OSF established the CSLA program as a fully funded master’s degree scholarship for students from selected developing countries. The OSF’s mission is to “build vibrant and tolerant societies whose governments are accountable and open to the participation of all people.”

MSFS students who receive this scholarship demonstrate both academic and professional excellence as well as great potential in becoming strong leaders in their communities. Through the CSLA scholarships, OSF prepares these future leaders to positively impact their societies and tackle the political, economic, and social challenges their countries face today.
