Veronica Pacheco
Veronica Pacheco is a graduate candidate in the Master of Science in Foreign Service (MSFS) program at Georgetown University, specializing in International Development and pursuing a Certificate in Refugees, Migration, and Humanitarian Emergencies. As a Charles B. Rangel International Affairs Fellow, Veronica will join the U.S. Department of State Foreign Service upon graduation.
In 2024, Veronica interned at the White House Office of Communications under the Biden Administration, followed by an internship with the Public Diplomacy Section at the U.S. Embassy in Dakar, Senegal. She previously worked at the House of Representatives Foreign Affairs Committee on Western Hemisphere Affairs. She also worked as a Spanish interpreter at the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services Asylum Office.
Veronica’s international experience also includes teaching English in South Korea, where she published an article on the human trafficking of North Koreans, which she presented at the 14th United Nations Congress on Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice. She was also a recipient of the Critical Language Scholarship.
Veronica graduated Cum Laude with Honors in International Criminal Justice and Political Science from John Jay College of Criminal Justice, City University of New York. During her undergraduate studies, she studied abroad in Australia and Italy, developed resources for DACA and undocumented students, and worked at the college's President's Office.
Veronica’s professional and academic interests include migration issues, human rights, and languages, with a specific interest in serving in Latin America and Southeast Asia. Her passion for international relations was cultivated through the U.S. Department of State’s Charles B. Rangel Summer Enrichment Program and an internship with the Bureau of Democracy, Human Rights, and Labor Affairs.
Veronica is fluent in Spanish and proficient in Korean.
