Tianshu (Jonathan) Pang
Before joining the MSFS program, Jonathan conducted research on smallholder farms in Southeast Asia and Africa and visited several sites with Synergos. He also worked with UNOP and helped to prepare UN-HLPF 2019. Most recently, Jonathan conducted two-month-long onsite research in Yunnan, China, on the human-wildlife conflict in Asian elephant conservation with SEE Foundation.
At MSFS, he developed an interest in energy transition and broadband access as he participated in the Inaugural Spectrum Summit to research using them as tools to reduce poverty. He participated in COP26 and 27 to further research the current state and the new challenges that the clean energy transition faces to reach the NetZero target. He hopes to pursue a career in the private or multilateral sector that relates to his interests and involves bridging differences between the two and between countries through business and public diplomacy.
Jonathan received his B.A. in communications from Fordham University. He is a six-times Marathoner and an equestrian.
"I chose MSFS to learn from world-class practitioners who are experts in various areas and disciplines to cultivate my professional skills and personal characteristics for a future career involving diplomacy while learning from my classmates who come from different countries and cultures."
