Reed Collins
Reed is a student in the Master of Science in Foreign Service program, concentrating in Global Politics and Security with a focus on Transnational Issues & Institutions. Reed is interested in the role of negotiation and mediation in international diplomacy, particularly in Latin America and the Middle East.
Prior to Georgetown, Reed worked at a negotiation consulting firm, where he trained and advised private and public sector organizations on complex, multi-stakeholder negotiations. In that role, Reed worked with soldiers, lawyers, multinational companies, and elected officials in the U.S., Latin America, the EU, and APAC on negotiation processes and strategies. Before that role, Reed worked at a small USAID contractor supporting trade facilitation programs across Southeast Asia. He also volunteered as a mediator in the Boston Small Claims Courts, where he helped individuals navigate their differences productively and peacefully.
Reed received his bachelor's degree in International Relations from Tufts University, where he studied how societies used negotiation and mediation in transitional justice to manage deeply rooted conflicts, specifically in the Middle East and Latin America. Reed speaks Arabic and Spanish.
