Pamela Hernandez
Pamela Hernandez is a Master of Science in Foreign Service candidate at Georgetown University as a 2023 Thomas R. Pickering Foreign Affairs Graduate Fellow. She is concentrating in Global Politics and Security (GPS), with a focus on Global Institutions & Transnational Challenges. Pamela is also pursuing certificates in Global Human Development (GHD) and Refugees, Migration, and Humanitarian Emergencies. Her academic research focuses on the history and politics of decolonization, with a particular emphasis on the intersections of gender, migration, and climate change.
Prior to Georgetown, she spent over two years working at the Institute for Transportation and Development Policy (ITDP) in New York City, an NGO dedicated to mitigating the impacts of climate change through sustainable transportation, where she gained valuable experience in the international development and environmental NGO sectors.
Pamela graduated summa cum laude from Rutgers University-New Brunswick with a degree in Political Science and Women’s and Gender Studies, and a minor in International and Global Studies with a regional specialization on the Middle East and North Africa. During her time at Rutgers, she gained hands-on experience through internships at the Center for American Women and Politics (CAWP) as a Leadership Scholar at the Institute for Women’s Leadership, as well as with the New Jersey Department of Education’s Bureau of Bilingual/ESL Education through the Public Leadership Education Network (PLEN).
