Marta Sydoryak
Marta is a Ukrainian-American who received her B.A. in Psychology and German Studies from Temple University. During her senior year of high school, she had the opportunity to live in Ingolstadt, Germany for ten months through the Congress-Bundestag Youth Exchange Program. After graduating from Temple, she worked for the Assistance Association for Political Prisoners (Burma) as a Research and Documentation intern on the border of Myanmar and Thailand. Afterwards, she worked at the National Endowment for Democracy in Washington, D.C. as a Program Assistant. Following the events of the Maidan Revolution, Marta was eager to get back to Ukraine. She began working at the Ukrainian Leadership Academy initially as a Program Coordinator, followed by transitioning to International and Diaspora Partnerships Manager. In addition to her studies in the Master of Science in Foreign Service (MSFS) program, Marta serves as the General Secretary for the Georgetown Collaborative Diplomacy Initiative. She is particularly interested in security, defense, and development in Ukraine. She hopes to pursue a career in promoting U.S.-Ukraine relations or working on reforms in Ukraine. She speaks German and Ukrainian.
"I chose the MSFS program because of the world-class faculty and the opportunities to engage with many leading individuals and organizations in international affairs based here in D.C."
