Marco Perez
Marco Perez was born and raised in New York City, but spent some time living in the Dominican Republic, where his family is originally from. In May 2024, Marco graduated from Georgetown’s School of Foreign Service with a Bachelor of Science in Foreign Service, with a focus on International Security. During his undergraduate tenure, Marco was involved with the International Relations Club, thrice volunteering to staff the high school Model UN conference (NAIMUN) hosted annually in the Washington Hilton. Additionally, he twice traveled abroad to France with his campus ministry on a Spring Break service trip, the latter time co-leading the team. Professionally, Marco worked for several years with Georgetown’s study abroad office, hosting weekly info sessions for undergraduate students seeking to go abroad. Marco also interned for the New York Life Foundation working on corporate responsibility and employee engagement, learning the role corporations play in non-profit and advocacy work. He is a native Spanish speaker, being raised bilingual, and studied French for a number of years.
Marco is beginning MSFS with a concentration in Global Politics and Security, hoping to harness his studies towards understanding the various political, historical, and cultural elements of global conflict and thus working to mitigate or prevent them. He intends to work in an IR-oriented NGO in the early years of his career before transitioning to the public sector, seeking to incorporate diverse civil society perspectives into the influential work of government. Outside of the classroom, Marco enjoys exercising, traveling, reading, and film watching.
