Lee W. Schafer Jr.
Lee Schafer, Jr. is originally from Seminole, FL and attended Florida State University for his undergrad, graduating in 2012 with a Bachelor of Science in Political Science and a Bachelor of Arts in International Affairs. Upon graduation, he commissioned into the U.S. Army as an Armor Officer. Over the course of his career, he has been stationed in Georgia, Germany, Texas, and California, and has deployed to Afghanistan, South Korea, and Poland.
In Georgetown’s Master of Science in Foreign Service program, Lee is concentrating in Global Politics and Security and studying German for his foreign language requirement. Drawing on his five years stationed in, or deployed to, Europe, his research focus is on NATO and Trans-Atlantic security issues. Upon graduation, Lee will return to active duty as a Functional Area 59 Army Strategist.
Lee has been married since 2012 and has a six-year-old daughter, a newborn son, a dog, and a cat. His hobbies and interests include traveling with his family, watching college football, and playing video games with his daughter.
