Kylie Hay-Roe
Kylie Hay-Roe was born in Gainesville, Florida. She graduated from the University of Florida in 2023 with a bachelor's degree in Political Science & International Studies. Through the University of Florida, she worked as a congressional intern and as a research assistant studying developments in the Sahel. She wrote her Senior capstone paper in International Studies on misconceptions and policy responses surrounding environmental migration in the Sahel. While studying abroad, she learned about sustainable energy policies in Iceland and interned at the Brussels School of Governance researching transnational security threats. Most recently, she completed a Fulbright grant as an English Teaching Assistant in the Canary Islands, where she witnessed the fundamental role of education in stimulating development and enhancing local capacity. At MSFS, she hopes to gain a holistic understanding of how the international political system and security-development nexus functions to help bring about multi-lateral policy solutions for a better world. Her passion for humanitarianism, public service, the environment, and international cooperation have driven her to pursue a career as a USAID Foreign Service Officer upon completion of the MSFS program.
