Isabella Castillo
Isabella is a second-year graduate student in the MSFS IDEV concentration with an interest in global health and sustainable health policy solutions. She is President of the Georgetown Anti-Poverty Society (GAPS), a student group dedicated to fostering discussions on development issues.
Her academic journey prior to Georgetown includes a Master's in Biomedical Sciences from Duke University and a Bachelor’s in Psychology and French from Johns Hopkins University, where she received multiple awards for her research. As a cognitive neuroscience research associate at the University of Miami, Isabella led a Department of Defense-funded study on mindfulness interventions for Special Operations Forces, developing tools that enhance cognitive performance under stress.

At the World Bank's HNP division, she contributed to a report on long-term care financing in Croatia and drafted a brief on improving long-term care health financing in the Western Balkans. While at Friends of the Global Fight Against AIDS, TB, & Malaria, she supported advocacy efforts, engaging with policymakers to advance global health funding and amplify civil society voices.
Isabella is fluent in Spanish and proficient in French. In her free time she enjoys live music, playing with her two beagles, exploring, and writing.
