Ieva Skrivere
Ieva Skrivere, a native of Latvia, is a current student in the Master of Science in Foreign Service program at Georgetown University concentrating in Global Politics and Security. Additionally, she is a Hinrich Global Trade Leader Scholar, and a Board Member of the SFS Energy Club.
Ieva Skrivere has over eight years of experience in the public sector and multilateral organizations focused on financial and economic policy. She started her career at the Central Bank of Latvia working on international relations and communication – analyzing global economic trends, and regularly giving media interviews on international economic developments. Prior to her studies at MSFS, Ieva served as Latvia’s representative at the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and worked as an Advisor to the Nordic-Baltic Executive Director at the IMF. In this role, she was involved in the decision-making process at the IMF's Executive Board, advancing the positions of the eight Nordic-Baltic countries in her constituency on a wide range of issues – including, climate change, financial sector issues, debt relief, and more than 80 country cases.
In addition to her professional experience, Ieva is passionate about debating and critical thinking. She co-founded a non-governmental organization that helps young students in Latvia develop critical thinking, argumentation, and public speaking skills. Ieva earned her Bachelor of Science in Economics and Business at the Stockholm School of Economics in Riga. During her time at MSFS, she will study Mandarin, adding to her Latvian, English, and Russian language skills.
