Hannah Followill
Hannah Followill is a second-year graduate student in Georgetown University's Master of Science in Foreign Service program. She has tailored her studies around the intersections of US policy and strategy for economic security and international trade. Hannah serves as the Co-President of Georgetown Women in International Affairs, an organization which empowers graduate and undergraduate students to step into leadership roles and develop skills for success.
Between her first and second year of graduate studies, Hannah worked in the office of the Foreign Agricultural Service at the US Embassy in Lima. During this time, she interacted with Peruvian government officials and civil society on matters of agricultural policy in both English and Spanish. Prior to her graduate studies, she was the Special Assistant and Scheduler to Under Secretary for International Trade Marisa Lago at the International Trade Administration (ITA) in the US Department of Commerce. In this role, Hannah had the pleasure of supporting the Under Secretary in implementing ITA’s strategic priorities across the United States and in over 80 international markets. Hannah also served as the Scheduler to former Congressman Filemon Vela (TX-34) in the US House of Representatives. While working for Congressman Vela, she witnessed the policymaking process in action and became adept in congressional dynamics.
Originally from Texas, Hannah completed her undergraduate studies at Texas A&M University with a Bachelor of Science in Agribusiness and minors in Spanish and Horticulture.
