Francesco de Luca
Francesco graduated from John Cabot University, in Rome, with a bachelor degree in economics and finance. He started his career as a financial analyst for a major Italian corporation, CNH Industrial, soon after graduation. His interest in international affairs and world politics led him to apply to MSFS. At Georgetown, Francesco is having the opportunity to expand his understanding of critical policy areas, including European Union–United States diplomatic and political relations, European politics, and energy security in Europe. As a graduate student at Georgetown, he also had the chance to improve his quantitative research skills, taking advanced courses in statistics, econometrics, and data science.
Recently, Francesco was chosen as MSFS Centennial Fellow for Professor Theresa Sabonis-Helf, whom he is assisting with her research on energy security issues in Europe. He is also assisting Georgetown Professor Kathleen McNamara in her research on international political economy.
Francesco aspires to serve as an External Relations Officer in the European External Action Service. The importance of service, as conveyed by the MSFS faculty, fellows, and practitioners, has led him to orient his career towards public service.
"I chose the MSFS program to prepare myself for a career in public service. I feel grateful for having joined a community of dedicated students and professors who share a commitment to the same values I strive to live by."
