Fiona Kibblewhite
Fiona studies global politics and security with a focus on diplomatic studies and gender, peace, and security. Her regional focus is Latin America, and she is interested in Public Diplomacy in the Foreign Service.
Originally from Pennsylvania, Fiona studied Hispanic Studies at Columbia University and then taught Spanish in New York City public schools and directed international education programs in Asia prior to enrolling in MSFS at Georgetown. Fiona has experience working with the State Department in Public Affairs at the US Embassy in Quito, Ecuador, and the Organization of American States at the Department for the Promotion of Peace in DC. At Georgetown, Fiona has focused her studies on the intersection of gender, peace processes, and diplomacy in Latin America. She serves as a Residential Fellow and a Teaching Assistant for MSFS courses. In the future, Fiona is interested in working in Public Diplomacy in the Foreign Service.
"I chose MSFS because I knew it would help me get where I want to go. Having studied Hispanic Studies, I wanted a comprehensive international relations program that would prepare for the Foreign Service. Additionally, I was particularly drawn to the values at Georgetown and our shared mission to service to others."
