Ellen Mueller
Ellen is a Master of Science in Foreign Service (MSFS) candidate concentrating in International Development. She is particularly interested in migration and protecting forcibly displaced people.
As an Undergraduate, Ellen attended the University of Puget Sound, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts in International Political Economy with a minor in Spanish. After graduation, Ellen moved to Buenos Aires, Argentina, where she spent two years living and working as an English teacher. Upon returning to the United States, Ellen taught preschool for an additional two years in Denver. During this time, she volunteered as an interpreter for lawyers assisting asylum seekers at the Federal Detention Center in Aurora, Colorado. While at Georgetown, Ellen completed an internship with the U.S. Committed for Refugees and Immigrants working on Policy and Advocacy. She was also awarded a fellowship from the Africa Studies Program to participate in a summer experiential learning program in Kenya, where she visited governments, firms, and development organizations in Nairobi. In addition to English, Ellen is fluent in Spanish and is currently learning French.
