Elisabeth Miller
Elisabeth Miller is a Thomas R. Pickering Foreign Affairs Fellow from Seattle, WA. At Georgetown, Elisabeth will use her Global Politics and Security concentration to explore the relationship between development and security, particularly in the Middle East and North Africa. She also plans to complete certificates in Global Human Development and in Refugees, Migration, and Humanitarian Emergencies.
Elisabeth worked with CorpsAfrica in Rabat, Morocco, where she helped manage a volunteer program for Africans modeled on the Peace Corps and built an approach to monitoring and evaluation. She visited several project sites in Senegal and trained volunteers there for a project pitch competition. While an intern and Council of American Ambassadors Fellow with the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Counterterrorism, she co-created a workshop with NGOs to develop new ideas for countering terrorist financing in the Gulf region. She also taught English in Ladakh, India. Elisabeth holds bachelors’ degrees from Lewis & Clark College in French studies and psychology and studied the history of terrorism and immigration while in Paris. Raised in Europe, she speaks fluent French and has achieved advanced proficiency in Moroccan Darija.
