Deontae Brown
Deontae Brown is a first year in the Master of Science in Foreign Service (MSFS) program at Georgetown University, pursuing a concentration in Global Politics & Security. His academic interests are in intercultural relations and conflict resolution.
Originally from Dayton, Ohio, he graduated Summa Cum Laude with a bachelor's degree in both Anthropology and Political Science at Ohio University in 2024. As an undergraduate he studied French and Arabic, worked as a research assistant, and participated in archaeological excavations for Ohio University. He also interned with Representative Scott Peters as part of his reelection campaign in 2020 and with the nonprofit organization Rank the Vote as an outreach coordinator in 2023.
Deontae studied abroad in Egypt in order to study Middle Eastern politics and colloquial Egyptian Arabic. He also conducted research for his thesis that examines the various socio-cultural relationships between the workers and residents who live and work near historical landmarks and the landmark itself, using the Pyramids of Giza as his case study. In Egypt, he attended an international school which only furthered his interests in international politics and on how foreign communities viewed the U.S.
