David Chu
David Chu is a first-year MSFS student from Illinois specializing in Global Politics and Security. He aims to concentrate his studies on U.S. and Chinese Foreign and Defense Policy, as well as the Regional Security of the Indo-Pacific Region, with a special focus on Taiwan due to his familial roots.
Before joining MSFS, he double-majored as an Honors Student at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and participated in studies abroad programs in Europe as a Gilman Scholar. David's professional involvements span across the globe and includes roles in non-profits and in government, as well as contributions to various local communities via volunteering. Having recently interned with the Taiwanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, he was able to leverage his diverse experience and language skills to help optimize the management of diplomatic documents.
Apart from aspiring to be a civil servant, David is also keen on exploring opportunities in the private sector, whether as a consultant, analyst, or in other roles that would enable him to actively engage in global affairs and contribute towards national and international security.
