Conor McWeeney
Conor McWeeney, a native of Portland, Oregon, is a first-year MSFS student concentrating in Global Business, Finance, and Society at the Walsh School of Foreign Service. His interest in international affairs, global trade, and public service led him to study at the United States Merchant Marine Academy, where he served as the Team Captain for the Track and Cross Country teams three out of his four years, and graduated with a commission in the Strategic Sealift Officer Community of the US Navy.
Prior to Georgetown, Conor worked as a Navigator with Military Sealift Command, serving aboard Special Mission Naval Vessels, coordinating and conducting underway replenishments with NATO assets, undersea cable laying and repair, and operating one of two Naval Hospital Ships. Additionally, Conor is certified as a US Navy Surface Rescue Swimmer, voluntarily undertaking months of intense training at one of the Navy’s four high-risk training courses. Conor hopes to continue advancing cross-cultural understanding through a career in Foreign Service.
