Benjamin Freedman
Benjamin Freedman is an MSFS candidate at Georgetown University’s Walsh School of Foreign Service. He is concentrating in Global Politics and Security (GPS). Benjamin’s areas of interest include statecraft, diplomacy, negotiation, emerging technology, and climate change.
Prior to his admission, he served as Assistant to the Vice President of Policy and Policy Center Coordinator at the Middle East Institute. In this position, he aided scholars and program directors in research and grant projects, managed day-to-day Policy Center logistics, and assisted in the center’s development. Prior to joining MEI, he completed a Bachelor of Arts in International Relations with a minor in Arabic language. He traveled to Jordan for four months where he conducted research at a Jordanian think tank pertaining to public perceptions of the Arab-Israeli conflict and American affairs in the Middle East. Benjamin previously worked for Human Rights First as a National Security Intern where he conducted research pertaining to the threat of climate change and its rising legal complications to the global refugee crisis.
Benjamin is professionally proficient in Arabic with six years of extensive travel throughout the Middle East and exposure to Arab media and business linguistics. He is a native of Los Angeles, California.
