Andrea Quinones
Andrea Quinones is a graduate candidate in the Master of Science in Foreign Service (MSFS) program at Georgetown University, pursuing a concentration in Global Politics & Security. Her current research focuses on the convergence of Transnational Crime Networks, particularly trafficking and terrorism in global ports of entry.
Prior to joining MSFS, Andrea served over 10 years across two branches, United States Air Force and United States Coast Guard. During her time in the Air Force, she participated in numerous fly- away missions over undisclosed locations providing crucial logistical support in support of the Global War on Terror as a Hazardous Material Inspector and Load Planner. She was accountable for all Aerial Port Operations from troop to cargo movements and over 2.2 billion in assets.
Upon transferring to the Coast Guard, she worked in Maritime Security participating in numerous Anti- Terrorism and Narcotics missions leading to her placement at the NY Maritime Safety & Security Team. Here she provided Intelligence leading to 1.3 billion Dollars of Cocaine Seizure with the “BEST” (Border Enforcement Security Task Force”, boarded High Interest Vessels, provided security for the UNGA and distinguished visitors such as POTUS. Andrea later worked Recruiting in NYC helping the Unit move from last to the number one recruiting office through relentless outreach and public affairs events all while pursuing her undergraduate degree in International Criminal Justice at John Jay College, CUNY. She hopes to combine her experience in enforcement with MSFS education to improve global security.
