U.S. Citizens and Residents

Air Force Association – Captain Jodi Callahan Memorial Scholarship: The Captain Jodi Callahan Memorial Scholarship provides a $1,000 scholarship to an active duty Air Force, full time Air National Guard, or full time Air Force Reserve (officer or enlisted soldier) pursuing a Master’s Degree in a non-technical field of study.
Air Force Association – Mike & Gail Donley Spouse Scholarship: The Air Force Spouse Scholarship program is designed to encourage Air Force spouses worldwide to pursue associate, bachelor, or graduate/postgraduate degrees. The applicant must be a spouse of Air Force active duty, Air National Guard, or Air Force Reserve to be eligible. Spouses who are themselves Air Force personnel, or in ROTC, are not eligible.
American Indian College Fund Full Circle Scholarships: Requirements for eligibility for the American Indian College Fund Full Circle Scholarship include: U.S. citizenship; full-time enrollment in a graduate program at an accredited public, private (non-profit), or tribal college or university; registration as a member of a federal or state recognized tribe, or a descendant of at least one grandparent or parent who is an enrolled tribal member (Alaska Natives may use Native Corporation membership); and a minimum grade point average of 2.0.
American Indian Graduate Center (AIGC) Fellowship for Native American Graduate Students: The AIGC Fellowship program provides approximately $1,200,000 in fellowships to more than four hundred American Indian and Alaska Native graduate and professional students each year. Graduate fellowships are monetary awards made to American Indian and Alaska Native graduate or professional degree-seeking students, who meet all eligible criteria. The fellowship amount is typically between $1,000 and $5,000 per academic year (not including summer), and varies from year to year, depending on the number of qualified applicants, the availability of funds, and unmet financial need.
American Institute of Polish Culture – Harriet Irsay Scholarship: The Harriet Irsay Scholarship Fund awards grants to American students, preferably of Polish heritage who wish to continue their education. Eligibility: full-time students who are American citizens, or permanent residents preferably of Polish heritage, and studying within the following fields: Communication, Education, Film, History, International Relations, Journalism, Liberal Arts, Polish Studies, Public Relations, graduate students in business programs whose thesis is directly related to Poland, and graduate students in all majors whose thesis is on the Polish subject.
AmeriCorps Award: Upon successful completion of a term of service, AmeriCorps members are eligible to receive a Segal AmeriCorps Education Award, which may be used only to pay college costs or to repay student loans. Members may earn up to two awards and have seven years to use this benefit.
Andrew K. Ruotolo, Jr. Memorial Scholarship: Applicant must be a resident of New Jersey accepted for admission to a graduate school or law school. The applicant must exhibit an interest in, and commitment to, enhancing the rights and well-being of children through child advocacy programs. The applicant must also exhibit financial need. Each scholarship is a grant in the amount of $2,500 and paid directly to the recipient.
Association on American Indian Affairs: AAIA has a long history of providing scholarships to college students, awarding their first scholarship in 1948. Over the years, the scholarship program has grown to the current seven scholarships for graduate and undergraduate students from federally recognized and non-recognized tribes. The number of students awarded per year varies due to funding availability.
Association of Former Intelligence Officers (AFIO) Scholarships, Prizes and Awards: Evaluation criteria include merit, character, seriousness of academic commitment, and relevance of studies to national security interests and career ambitions. All applicants must be U.S. citizens. Dollar amounts of awards vary.
Beinecke Scholarship: For students who intend to pursue a graduate course of study in the arts, humanities, or social sciences. Each scholar receives $4,000 immediate prior to entering graduate school and an additional $30,000 while attending graduate school. Note: Students must apply for this scholarship during their junior year of undergraduate studies.
Bureau of Indian Education Scholarships: Bureau of Indian Education (BIE) scholarship funds are awarded to students who are members of federally recognized American Indian tribes or at least one-quarter degree Indian blood descendent. Check with your local BIE office for applications, eligibility, and deadlines.
Bush Foundation Fellowship: In selecting Bush Fellows, the Bush Foundation seeks people who possess a vision for strengthening the common good within the Bush Foundation region and who are willing to devote their time, energy, and skills to make that vision a reality. Applicants to the Bush Fellowship Program must be: U.S. citizens or permanent residents; at least 24 years old at the time of the application deadline; have lived for one continuous year immediately prior to the application deadline in Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota, or one of the 23 sovereign nations that shares the same geographic area with these states.
Celia M. Howard Fellowship: For Illinois women, the Celia M. Howard Fellowship was established in 1948 with the purpose of giving financial assistance to train well-qualified Illinois women for study in the Field of Diplomacy.
CIRI Foundation (Cook Inlet Region, Inc): The major goal of the CIRI Foundation is to encourage the education and career development of Alaska Natives through postsecondary scholarships and grants, research, and other educational projects. Applicants must be, or be descended from, original enrollees of the Cook Inlet Region.
Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute Scholarship: The mission of CHCI Scholars is to provide critical financial assistance that will increase graduation rates among Latino students in post-secondary education. The one-time award amounts to $5,000 for graduate-level study. Scholarship awards are intended to provide assistance with tuition, room and board, textbooks, and other educational expenses associated with college enrollment.
Evalee C. Schwarz Charitable Trust for Education – Interest Free Loans: The Evalee C. Schwarz Charitable Trust for Education was created to provide interest-free loans to undergraduate and graduate students who demonstrate exceptional academic performance and significant financial need. Eligibility: Students seeking to qualify for a loan from the Evalee C. Schwarz Charitable Trust for Education must: Be a U.S. citizen at the time of application. Qualify for financial need in the form of government grants. Applicants must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid at www.fafsa.ed.gov. Must demonstrate an outstanding academic achievement. Not available to students seeking a law degree. Loan amounts generally range from $5,000 to $15,000, with a $50,000 lifetime cap per student.
Federal Employee Education and Assistance Fund: FEEA sponsors the only merit-based scholarship competition program open exclusively to federal employees, their spouses, and their children–rewarding hard workers through our program. More than 400 students from across 27 regions will win scholarships ranging from $500 to $2,500. From this pool of 400, the top students in each region have the chance to win two additional awards.
GI Bill/Yellow Ribbon Program: This program is coordinated by the United States Department of Veteran Affairs for eligible US Veterans.
Government Finance Officers Association: Multiple scholarships for students preparing for a career in state and local government finance.
Hispanic Scholarship Fund: As the nation’s largest not-for-profit organization supporting Hispanic-American higher education, HSF has awarded over $400 million in scholarships and provides a range of ancillary programs for candidates, scholars, and their families. HSF/General College Scholarship Award amounts generally range from $500 to $5,000.
Islamic Scholarship Fund (ISF): ISF is a 501 C (3) non-profit organization founded in 2006 to encourage Muslim students in the United States to pursue college and post graduate degrees in humanities, social sciences and liberal arts.
Jewish Vocational Service of Los Angeles Scholarship Program: The JVS Scholarship Program provides qualified Jewish students whose primary residence is in Los Angeles with need-based financial aid. ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS: Must be Jewish; Minimum age of 16 years; Permanent and legal resident of Los Angeles County – for a minimum of three years; U.S. citizen or documented legal permanent U.S. resident (green card); Planning to attend an accredited college or university in the U.S.; Planning to enroll full-time (minimum 12 units per term); Maintain a minimum 3.0 GPA for every semester or quarter enrolled; Demonstrated and verifiable financial need including FAFSA.
The John Kenneth Galbraith Policy Fellowship Program: The ADA Education Fund awards Galbraith Fellowships to outstanding college graduates or graduate students. Applicants should have majored in economics, international relations, public policy or a related discipline and have demonstrated an interest in national policy. Fellows are selected from a national pool of applicants and must demonstrate strong research/writing skills, community service, a commitment to liberal ideals, and plans for future study or a career in public policy.
Kinesis Scholarship for Puerto Rican Residents: These scholarships are for students from Puerto Rico admitted to a graduate level program in universities located outside of Puerto Rico. To be eligible, you must: have a minimum GPA of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale; be a legal resident of Puerto Rico for at least two years; be accepted to a graduate program located in an institution outside of Puerto Rico; demonstrate financial need; demonstrate desire or initiative to improve the future of Puerto Rico.
The Dolores Zohrab Leibmann Fund: The Will of Dolores Zohrab Leibmann created a Trust designated for the purpose of funding advanced education and graduate study grants. Candidates should be pursuing or about to pursue an advanced degree in the humanities, social sciences, or natural sciences (including law, medicine, engineering, architecture or other formal professional training). Candidates should have a very high level of academic achievement. Fellows receive funds towards their tuition in addition to up to $18,000 for room and board, living expenses and income taxes. NAACP Agnes Jones Jackson Scholarship: The Agnes Jones Jackson Scholarship was established in the memory of the late Agnes Jones Jackson who was a long time NAACP member from the San Francisco branch. In addition to a required 3.0 GPA, to be eligible for the scholarship, applicants must: Must be a current member of the NAACP; Be a US citizen; Must not have reached the age of 25 by the application deadline; Must be currently enrolled or accepted to an accredited college or university in the United States; Must demonstrate financial need based on the federal poverty guidelines.
National Italian American Foundation Scholarships: The National Italian American Foundation offers various scholarship opportunities for students of Italian descent.
National Organization of Italian American Women Scholarships: Since its inception in 1980, NOIAW has awarded over 100 scholarships to deserving candidates. The common denominator shared by all recipients is that they are highly qualified Italian American women in need of additional support to pursue the education of their choice. Scholarships are awarded every year to matriculating undergraduate and graduate students pursuing a degree. We encourage students from each of our regions (Greater New York, Greater Washington, DC, Connecticut and Rhode Island) to apply. Preferential consideration is given to applicants who have demonstrated excellence in fields of study of Italian language and/or culture.
National Society of Collegiate Scholars: A number of scholarships with varying eligibility criteria are available to students who are members of the National Society of Collegiate Scholars. Application deadlines and award amounts vary.
Navajo Nation Scholarship: The Navajo Nation Graduate Fellowship was established to provide financial assistance in the form of grant awards to eligible Navajo students wishing to attend or attending graduate school, utilizing the Navajo Nation Graduate Trust Fund.
Order Sons of Italy in America National Leadership Grant Scholarships: The Sons of Italy Foundation offers National Leadership Grant Scholarships to outstanding men and women of Italian descent. These are merit-based awards which range from $5,000 to $25,000 for one year.
The Thomas R. Pickering Graduate Foreign Affairs Fellowship: The Thomas R. Pickering Foreign Affairs Fellowship is designed to attract outstanding individuals from all ethnic, racial and social backgrounds who have an interest in pursuing a Foreign Service career with the U.S. Department of State.
The Pickering Fellowship has both an Undergraduate and Graduate Program. Pickering Undergraduate applicants must apply as rising seniors; Graduate applicants must be seeking admission to a two-year master’s degree program.
Fellows will receive financial support of up to $37,500 annually* for tuition costs, room and board, books, mandatory fees, and one round trip ticket between the Fellow’s residence and his/her academic institutions.
*Undergraduate Fellowship: senior year and first year of graduate school; Graduate Fellowship: first and second year of graduate school
Pride Foundation Scholarships: The Pride Foundation provides post-secondary educational scholarships to current and future leaders in the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer (LGBTQ), and straight ally community from Alaska, Idaho, Montana, Oregon, and Washington. Preference is given to students who are self-identified LGBTQ, members of LGBTQ families, or straight allies who have been strongly supportive of the LGBTQ community. All scholarships emphasize demonstrated commitment to equality and civil rights for all people.
Public Policy and International Affairs (PPIA) Program: The goal of the PPIA Fellowship Program is to help students achieve a Master’s or joint degree, typically in public policy, public administration, or international affairs. Applications are only accepted while a student is enrolled in an undergraduate program.
The Charles B. Rangel Graduate Fellowship Program: The Rangel Graduate Fellowship is a program that aims to attract and prepare outstanding young people for careers in the Foreign Service in which they can help formulate, represent and implement U.S. foreign policy. Each year, the Rangel Program selects 30 outstanding Rangel Fellows in a highly competitive nationwide process and helps support them through two years of graduate study, internships and professional development activities, and entry into the Foreign Service.
The Rangel Fellowship will provide up to $47,500 per year for tuition, mandatory fees and other educational and living expenses.
Roothbert Fund, Inc. (Education): Roothbert Fund scholarships are open to all in the United States regardless of sex, age, color, nationality or religious background. While the Fund does not emphasize any particular form of religious practice or worship, it seeks to provide support to persons motivated by spiritual values. However, preference will be given to those who can satisfy high scholastic requirements and are considering careers in education.
Savoy Orders Pigott Scholarship: Students who are enrolled full-time at an accredited college or university, who are citizens or permanent residents of the United States and have proven financial need and a minimum academic grade point average of 3.00 or its equivalent, will be eligible for consideration for the scholarship. Applications must be received by the Foundation by May 15th of each year and the scholarship recipient will be selected by July 30th for the Fall semester. The grant recipient will be selected based on proven financial need, academic strengths, extracurricular involvement, an essay question (such as how will the scholarship help you develop your academic and career goals), and two letters of recommendation from academic sources.
Leopold Schepp Foundation Grants in Aid: The Foundation grants approximately 200 individual awards each year to both full-time undergraduate students enrolled in four year bachelor’s programs and to full time graduate students. Graduates must be under 40 years of age at the time of application. Awards are based on demonstrated financial need. The maximum annual award is $8,500.
Paul and Daisy Soros Fellowships for New Americans: The Paul & Daisy Soros Fellowships for New Americans provides opportunities for continuing generations of able and accomplished New Americans to achieve leadership in their chosen fields. The program honors and supports the graduate educations of 30 New Americans – permanent residents or naturalized citizens if born abroad; otherwise children of naturalized citizen parents — each year. At the time of their selection, fellows must be college seniors or early in the graduate programs for which they request support. Each fellow receives tuition and living expenses that can total as much as $90,000 over two academic years.
StudySoup – First in Family: Becoming a first-generation college student is a tremendous honor. And StudySoup would like to reward the exceptional work that goes into overcoming this barrier. Therefore, they are offering a $2000 scholarship this semester to one student who is looking for a leg-up in increasing their educational mobility.The winning student will be able to clearly demonstrate leadership qualities, commitment to their education, and a capacity to triumph over challenges.
Gen and Kelly Tanabe Scholarship: The Gen and Kelly Tanabe Scholarship is a merit-based program that helps students fulfill their dreams of a higher education. The scholarship is named for Gen and Kelly Tanabe, best-selling authors on education, whose donations fund this program.
To be eligible, applicants must be in 9th-12th grade high school, college, or graduate students, including adult students; legal residents of the U.S.; and currently in school or planning to start school within the next 12 months.
Winners are chosen by a committee, which bases its decision primarily on the submitted personal statement. The first place award is a $1,000 scholarship. The award can be used for tuition, room and board, required fees or any educational expense.
Tillman Military Scholarship: The Tillman Military Scholars program supports our nation’s active and veteran service members and their families by removing financial barriers to completing a degree or certification program of choice. The scholarships cover not only direct study-related expenses such as tuition and fees, but also other needs, including housing and child care. Specific military-based eligibility requirements apply.
The Harry S. Truman Scholarship Foundation: The Truman Scholarship provides funding to students pursuing graduate degrees in public service fields. Students must be college juniors at the time of selection. The Foundation also provides assistance with career counseling, internship placement, graduate school admissions, and professional development.
United States Department of Agriculture, Public Service Leaders Scholarship Program: The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Public Service Leaders Scholarship Program provides undergraduate and graduate level students with a challenging internship opportunity combined with a scholarship. The program is designed to promote public service and create access to higher education. Upon successful completion of program and degree requirements, participants become permanent employees of USDA.
USAID Donald Payne Development Fellowship: The USAID Donald M. Payne International Development Graduate Fellowship Program seeks to attract outstanding young people who are interested in pursuing careers in the Foreign Service of the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID). The Payne Fellowship, which provides up to $90,000 in benefits over two years for graduate school, internships, and professional development activities, provides a unique pathway to the USAID Foreign Service. The fellowship encourages the application of members of minority groups who have historically been underrepresented in international development careers and those with financial need.
Walter S. Barr Fellowships: Fellowship applicants must be residents of Hampden County, MA or qualified former residents. Awards are made to students pursuing a specific post-graduate degree. If that degree program requires more than one year of full time study, the award can be renewed for as many as two additional years, if warranted. Awards will be made on the basis of all available information, including school records, recommendations and examination scores. Consideration will be given to both the merit and financial need of the applicant.

Non-U.S. Students

Below is a list of organizations outside of Georgetown which may be helpful to international students looking for aid other than loans.

The Aga Khan Foundation: The Aga Khan Foundation provides a limited number of scholarships each year for postgraduate studies to outstanding students from developing countries who have no other means of financing their studies. Scholarships are awarded on a 50% grant : 50% loan basis through a competitive application process once a year in June or July. The Foundation gives priority to requests for Master’s level courses but is also willing to consider applications for PhD programs, when doctoral degrees are necessary for the career objectives of the student.
The Foundation accepts applications from countries where it has branches, affiliates or other AKDN agencies, which can help with processing applications and interviewing applicants. At present, these are Bangladesh, India, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, Syria, Egypt, Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, Mozambique, Madagascar, France, Portugal, UK, USA, and Canada.
Alberta Scholarships Program – Sir James Lougheed Awards of Distinction: Purpose: To recognize academic achievement and provide Albertans with the opportunity for advanced study at institutions outside of Alberta. Applicants must be Canadian Citizens or Landed Immigrants, be Alberta residents, and be enrolled or planning to enroll full-time in a graduate program at an institution outside of Alberta.
American Association of University Women (AAUW) International Fellowships: AAUW has a long and distinguished history of advancing educational and professional opportunities for women in the United States and around the globe. International Fellowships are awarded for full-time graduate or postgraduate study or research to women who are not U.S. citizens or permanent residents. The AAUW Master’s/First Professional Degree Fellowship amounts to $18,000.
American-Scandinavian Foundation: The American-Scandinavian Foundation (ASF) offers over $500,000 in funding to Scandinavians to undertake study or research programs (usually at the graduate level) in the United States for up to one year. Candidates for awards are recommended to the ASF by cooperating organizations. Awards are made in all fields. Applicants must be citizens of Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway or Sweden. Contact the ASF’s cooperating organizations for specific information regarding eligibility, award size, and application deadlines.
Arab Student Aid International Scholarship Interest-Free Loan: Arab Student Aid International provides interest-free, repayable student loans at the graduate and post graduate levels without any prejudice to religion, gender, ethnic or racial backgrounds.
Archimedes Foundation: Supports Estonian graduate students in international universities
- DoRa program supports graduate student exchanges from Estonia to international universities and vice versa.
- Kristjan Jaak awards scholarships for up to one year; partial studies for one to five months; international visits (includes lecturers up to 35 years old) for three to twenty-one days.
Armenian Students Association: Scholarships for college and graduate students are offered by the ASA for each academic year. Applications are available at the end of the current calendar year, with a deadline for March 15 in the following year.
Azerbaijani Government Scholarship Program: Provides full funding for Azerbaijani graduate students to study in the fields of medicine, economics, management, information and communication technologies, and law. Funded by the Government of Azerbaijan.
Zdenek Bakala Foundation: Offers generous financial support to Czech students for undergraduate and graduate study at universities outside the Czech Republic.
Baltic-American Freedom Foundation: Offers various scholarship opportunities in the U.S. to residents of Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania, including the Professional Internship Program for university students and recent graduates.
Barsa Scholarships Program: The Barsa Scholarships Program assists graduate and undergraduate students from designated Latin American countries in defraying the costs of U.S. training in certain priority fields. The Barsa Scholarships Program awards are partial, supporting other monies for such items as cost of living or tuition and fees. Graduate awards are renewable up to a total of two years; undergraduate awards are renewable up to a total of four years. Graduate awardees are typically nominated from a pool of Fulbright scholars, and undergraduate awardees are normally IIE undergraduate scholarship winners from participating countries.
Beca a la Excelencia Academica Jose Alberto Healy Noriega Scholarship: Funding for higher education for Mexican citizens. Eligibility: The Beca a la Excelencia Academica Jose Alberto Healy Noriega scholarship helps top students in their Master’s and doctoral studies. It is awarded annually to an outstanding Mexican individual to study in the US or Canada, with preference given to those in the academic fields of journalism, communication studies, and political science.
Beca Fulbright-Garcia Robles: Beca Fulbright-García Robles para Estudios de Posgrado en los Estados Unidos de América.

Becas Chile: Government-sponsored scholarships for Chilean students pursuing graduate study abroad.
Becas Magdalena O. Vda. De Brockman: This program was formed to foster the development of Mexican citizens and give them the opportunity to live abroad and understand foreign cultures. The foundation provides high-level education by annually granting as many scholarships as feasible to young Mexicans. Scholarships are for Graduate-level studies. The Foundation seeks highly motivated applicants with the following attributes: a Bachelor’s degree and cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or higher, strong recommendations, a functional level of communication in English, proof of having thoroughly researched postgraduate study opportunities, clearly focused career objectives, and finally, official admittance to a recognized foreign university. Awardees promise to return to Mexico after graduation and to remain in the country for five years.
Becas Talentia Fellowship Program: TALENTIA Fellowship Program is an initiative by the Ministry for Innovation, Science and Enterprise in Andalusia, Spain (at present the Ministry of Economy, Innovation and Science) that provides postgraduate scholarships to students from Andalusia allowing them to study abroad in selected institutions. TALENTIA Fellowships are awarded to students for a minimum of 6 months and a maximum of 24 months. Applicants must have: citizenship from a European Union member State; a connection with Andalusia by birth, residence, work, university or blood; an EU undergraduate degree; graduated within 10 years before the application; receipt of proof of application/admission to a university of international prestige.
Belgian American Educational Foundation, Inc.: The BAEF offers fellowships for study or research in the United States. Besides the amounts indicated, the Foundation pays for health insurance at the US institution. Fellows are expected to stay in the USA for a full academic year (nine months) to study at a US institution or for one year (twelve months) to do research at a research institution. Candidates who have means of their own to finance their studies or research in the USA may apply for an Honorary Fellowship of the Foundation.
BEST (BUNAC Educational Scholarship Trust) Scholarship: The BEST (BUNAC Educational Scholarship Trust) scholarships offer financial assistance to eligible applicants who are looking to undertake postgraduate study in the USA or Canada. The scholarships are open to UK passport holders who are currently or, have been within the last five years inclusive, in full-time tertiary education at a UK university or college. At the judging stage, preference is given to those whose proposed study in North America is likely to do most to further transatlantic understanding or to those who are required to go to the US to do a specific course.
BeursOpener: BeursOpener is a database maintained by Nuffic with funding opportunities for Dutch students and scholars wanting to go abroad to study, do an internship or conduct research.
Bolashak International Scholarship of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan: The Bolashak International Scholarship was established in 1993 by the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan and is fully funded by the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
Awarded for Bachelor, Master and PhD degree studies (since 2005) and for conducting research (since 2008), the Bolashak Scholarship covers all study-related costs (tuition fees, accommodation expenses, book allowances, medical insurance, travel expenses, entry visas and other registration costs, application fees, etc.).
The Bolashak Scholarship is awarded to future leaders on an individual basis each year to train in economics, engineering, medicine and other key fields.
Canadian Federation of University Women: The Canadian Federation of University Women (CFUW) has supported graduate study, literacy and the creative arts through awards and grants since its founding in 1919.
In 1921, the 12 Clubs of the Federation awarded the first CFUW Travelling Fellowship of $1,000. Since then CFUW has spent more than $1,000,000 on the Fellowships, Grants and Awards that it offers annually to Canadian women for post-graduate study. The Charitable Trust, set up in 1976, receives donations and supports this program. Numerous fellowships are available for graduate students.
CANhelp: Loans for Canadian citizens from the Canadian Higher Education Loan Program (CanHELP).
The Lyford Cay Foundation: The Lyford Cay Foundation, Inc. and the Canadian Lyford Cay Foundation provide partial scholarships to support Bahamian citizens pursuing higher education and technical training at approved institutions overseas and at The College of The Bahamas. Academic scholarships are available at undergraduate, graduate and doctorate levels.
Central Bank of Mexico FIDERH Loan for Graduate Students: FIDERH is a federal trust managed by the Central Bank of Mexico, offering graduate loans for Mexican citizens, for study in Mexico or abroad. Loan amounts are up to MXN 200,000 per year, repaid over a ten year term (beginning one year after graduation).TOEFL minimum scores apply. All applicants require a co-signer.
Citadel Capital Scholarship: The Citadel Capital Scholarship Foundation was created in 2007, out of a strong will to contribute to national development through creating high caliber professionals to help enhance Egypt’s growth in all sectors. The Foundation is funded by an endowment from Citadel Capital to grant academic scholarships for talented and promising young Egyptian men and women to pursue master degrees and PhDs abroad in all fields of study.
Colfuturo Scholarship-Loan Program: The Colfuturo Scholarship-Loan Program finances the costs of graduate studies around the world for up to $25,000 per year and for a maximum two-year stay abroad. Its main objective is to provide Colombian students with more and better study opportunities and enable them to contribute their experiences of studying abroad to the economic and social development of Colombia. Eligible students must meet the following selection criteria:
– Have been admitted unconditionally into a high quality graduate program (in any field of knowledge and anywhere in the world).
– Have at least one year work experience.
– Present an international language proficiency examination.
– Have an excellent academic record.
Once students have graduated, they must return to Colombia within one year of finishing their programs in order to qualify for a scholarship comprising a 50% waiver of the loan.
College Women’s Association of Japan (CWAJ) Scholarship Program: CWAJ awards merit scholarships to women only in various Study Abroad and Non-Japanese Graduate scholarship programs. However, please note that men can also apply for the scholarships awarded to the visually impaired. Awards are based on the candidates’ academic excellence, the quality and feasibility of their proposed study and their potential to contribute to society. CWAJ is proud to offer scholarships with no age limits and no restrictions on area of study. Applicants must be women who are citizens or special permanent residents of Japan, living in Japan from the time of application until March 31, 2014.
Conselho Nacional de Desenvolvimento Cientifico e Tecnologico (CNPq): CNPq offers fellowships for graduate students of Brazilian Nationality.
Coordination for Advancement for High Level Personnel (CAPES): CAPES provides fellowships for students of Brazilian nationality to pursue Graduate studies.
Corporación de Formento de Producción (CORFO) Graduate Student Loans: CORFO offers loans to citizens (or permanent residents) of Chile, admitted to graduate programs nationally or abroad. All programs of study must have a duration of at least one academic year. Maximum loans granted are CLF 3,000, and eligible expenses include tuition and academic fees, and roundtrip flight tickets for applicants and their immediate families. No deadline; applications accepted on rolling basis.
CNOUS: Scholarships from the French government and some regional councils for study abroad, usually for one academic year.
CSN: Provides funding for Swedish students to study in the U.S. or other countries. Supported by the Government of Sweden.
Cyprus Children’s Fund: Administers several scholarship programs for study in the U.S.:
– Theodore and Wally Lappas Award: for Greek Cypriot students who demonstrate academic excellence and financial need and who are studying full-time in an accredited U.S. institution.
– Thomas and Elaine Kyrus Endowment: for a student from the area or town of Morphou who is studying in an accredited U.S. institution.
– Peter G. and Bess Kolantis Decker Endowment: for a student of Greek Cypriot origin who is attending an accredited U.S. institution on a full-time basis and demonstrates scholastic aptitude.
– Cyprus Children’s Fund Scholarship Endowment: for students who are studying full-time in an accredited U.S. institution; applicants may be of Greek and Greek Cypriot origin, with residence in the U.S., Cyprus and Greece. Award categories include: architecture, arts and humanities, engineering, languages, law, medicine, performing arts, science, theology and other disciplines.
– Stanley Dru Award: presented to a full-time student in an accredited U.S. institution; must be of Greek Cypriot origin with residence on the island of Cyprus.
Cyprus Ministry of Finance Student Grants: Awards small grants for any Cypriot studying at an accredited college/university, regardless of financial need, in any field of study.
Cyprus State Scholarship Foundation: Scholarships awarded annually for study abroad at the bachelor’s and master’s level in any field of study, and Ph.D. level in specific fields of study.
Deutscher Akademischer Austauschdienst (DAAD) / German Academic Exchange Service: Studierenden und Graduierten (außer in bestimmten Programmen, s.u.) sowie Doktoranden werden Vollstipendien für den Auslandsaufenthalt gewährt. East-West Center United States, South Pacific Scholarship Program: Funded by the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs of the U.S. Department of State, USSP provides educational opportunities for individuals from South Pacific countries to pursue degrees at U.S. institutions in fields relevant to the development needs in the Pacific islands region. Available to students who are citizens of the Cook Islands, Fiji, Kiribati, Nauru, Niue, Papua New Guinea, Samoa, Solomon Islands, Tonga, Tuvalu, and Vanuatu.
Fellowship for the Future: The Fellowship for the Future supports Master’s degree study at distinguished U.S. graduate schools for students and young professionals in Croatia who demonstrate such excellence and strong motivation to be leaders in their field.

Fernand Lazard Foundation Interest-Free Loans for Young Academics: The Fernand Lazard Foundation was established in 1949 as a public utility. The Board consists of professors and professors emeriti of the seven Belgian universities. The Foundation Fernand Lazard provides interest-free loans to young students at the beginning of their careers. To qualify for a loan, candidates must: Hold a university degree from one of the Belgian universities; Nationals of one of the Member States of the European Union; And commit themselves to settle and work in Belgium until the bond matures. Application deadline: February 5th.
Finlandia Foundation National Trust Scholarship: Applicants must be citizens of the United States or Finland and accepted to an accredited institution of higher learning. Scholarships are awarded to undergraduate (min. freshmen) and graduate students for study in Finland (any subject) and in the United States (subjects related to Finland). Individual scholarships in the past have generally been in the $1,000 to $3,000 range.
The Finnish Cultural Foundation: The purpose of the Finnish Cultural Foundation is to “promote and develop cultural and economic life” in Finland. In line with this, the Foundation provides grants to individuals and groups working in the sciences and the arts, and to people and organizations in other fields of intellectual and cultural endeavor.
Finnish Fulbright Center: The Finnish Fulbright Center has an extensive listing of organizations that provide funding for research and study in the U.S.
Foundation for Educational Development: Provides additional financial support for Czech students to study abroad.
Fulbright Foreign Student Program: A mainstay of America’s public-diplomacy efforts, the Fulbright Foreign Student Program brings citizens of other countries to the United States for Master’s degree or Ph.D. study at U.S. universities or other appropriate institutions. The program has brought some of the world’s finest minds to U.S. campuses and offers program participants insight into U.S. society and values.
Fundacao Estudar: A number of scholarships for students from Brazil, including graduate scholarships for the study of international affairs.
Fundación Montemadrid: Provides 80 scholarships for Spanish students to pursue postgraduate studies in their field of choice in the U.S., European Union (except Spain) and Canada. Past recipients have opted for Master’s degrees (51%) and Doctorates (23%).
Fundación La Caixa: La Caixa grants for postgraduate studies abroad help Spanish researchers and professionals train at the world’s best academic centers. Grants are currently awarded each year for postgraduate studies in the United States, Canada, China, India, Germany, France, Great Britain and other European countries. Grants cover the full cost of matriculation, travel expenses and monthly allowances that can be extended up to 24 months.
Fundación Pedro Barrié de la Maza: The Fundación Pedro Barrié de la Maza is a private foundation devoted to promoting the development of Galicia from a global perspective. With headquarters in Spain, all its projects and programs have Galician roots and international outreach. The Fundación is active in the areas of education, research, culture and social work. If you have a link to Galicia, are of Spanish nationality and are highly motivated to complete your graduate training or research, there are 32 scholarships for master’s, doctoral, postdoctoral research and scientific research projects. Fundacja Batorego Awards: Provides funding for Polish citizens wishing to study abroad. The Foundation works proactively, encouraging long-term thinking, partnership between the public and private sectors, innovative approaches, and coalition building in addressing social problems. Eligibility: Polish citizens.
FUNED: FUNED’s mission is to help Mexican young college graduates, develop their potential to become the leaders of a better tomorrow for their country. The foundation fulfills its mission by offering complementary financing to obtain a master’s degree from a reputable University, local or abroad, preferably in matters related to the economic and productive activity.
FUNED grants provided for studies in areas such as: Business Administration and Financing, Economics, Law, International Trade and Political Science, Engineering, Architecture, International Relations, etc.
Georgia Master’s Program Abroad: Provides funding for Georgian citizens pursuing master’s degrees in the fields of business administration, engineering, sciences, law, social sciences, and humanities. The scholarship can provide full or partial funding, according to the student’s need. Funded by the Government of Georgia.
Government of India National Overseas Scholarship: The National Overseas Scholarship program provides financial assistance to students selected for pursuing higher studies abroad in certain subjects at the Masters level, and for Ph. D and Post-Doctoral research programmes.
Guatefuturo Programa de Crédito-beca: The main goal of Guatefuturo is to finance Guatemalan professionals who have been admitted to the best universities in the world by granting them a loan-scholarship, of which 50% will be forgiven if the recipient fulfills the requirements of the loan-scholarship.
Hebrew Free Loan Society Jean and Albert Nerkin Scholarship Fund: The Jean and Albert Nerken Scholarship Fund has been established at the United Jewish Appeal – Federation of Jewish Philanthropies of New York to provide financial assistance to needy Jewish individuals for secular studies only, in colleges, universities, graduate or professional schools. Applicants must be international students and must not have US citizenship. International students must fill their address at their home country as their permanent address. Each student selected will receive up to $5,000 annually for up to four years of his or her education. A commitment to each student will be limited to one year at a time, and students must re‐apply each year for consideration.
HONDUFUTURO: HONDUFUTURO offers each student up to US$25,000 per year for a maximum of two years. In total, the foundation offers loans of up to US$50,000. Students may be awarded scholarships for 50% of the loaned amount, provided they accomplish these three requirements: (1) be awarded their postgraduate degree, (2) return to Honduras, and (3) remain and work in the country for three to five years. Students may also obtain an additional 10% discount if, upon returning to the country, they engage in employment for one consecutive year as teachers in public or private universities. Those pursuing Masters’ degrees in management or MBA programs are awarded only 25% scholarship of the loaned amount.
Hungarian American Coalition Dr. Delmer Kiss Scholarship: The Hungarian American Coalition established a Scholarship Fund in 1997 for the purpose of providing partial annual scholarships to Hungarian students to pursue studies at U.S. colleges and universities. Applicant requirements: must be a citizen of Hungary, or member of an ethnic Hungarian community in Slovakia, Romania, Voivodina, Serbia or Ukraine; must have gained admission as a full-time student to a US college or university; should provide proof of scholarship and other sources of financial support.
Icelandic Student Loan Fund: Icelandic students are entitled to student loans if they meet one of the following conditions: They must have been a resident of Iceland for five continuous years preceding the application date; They must have pursued paid employment in Iceland for at least the last 12 months preceding the date of the application, and shall have been a resident of Iceland over the same period, or else have worked less than 12 months but been a resident of Iceland for a total of two years over a period of five continuous years. The maximum loan amount available for study in the US is $44,100.

Indonesia Endowment Fund for Education: This scholarship aims to support the supply of educated and qualified Indonesian human resources who also possess leadership qualities and a strong vision as future leaders of Indonesia. Such a commitment is carried out through the provision of scholarship funding for master or doctoral programs in top universities within and outside the country. Applications are accepted throughout the year.
Inlaks Shivdasani Foundation Scholarship: Inlaks Scholarships provide the opportunity to young people with exceptional talent in any field to broaden their vision abroad and improve their skills to operate in society, thus making them a future vehicle of change in their environment. Scholarships are open to all Indian citizens who are resident in India at the time of application. Candidates are normally expected to hold a good first degree from a recognized university in India. Indian citizens who hold a good undergraduate degree from a recognized university outside India, must have resided continuously and been employed or been studying in India, for at least two years, at the time of application. People holding a postgraduate degree (e.g. Masters or PhD) from a university outside India are not eligible; those who have started but not completed a postgraduate degree outside India are also ineligible. Candidates must be below 30 years of age on the first of July in the year of application. Candidates who are already studying or have started their program abroad are not eligible.
Institute of International Education: The Fulbright Foreign Student Program brings citizens of other countries to the United States for Master’s degree or Ph.D. study at U.S. universities or other appropriate institutions. More than 1,800 new Foreign Fulbright Fellows enter U.S. academic programs each year. Foreign students apply for Fulbright Fellowships through the Fulbright Commission/Foundation or U.S. Embassy in their home countries.
International Peace Research Association Foundation: The Senesh Fellowship for Women from Developing Countries makes an award every other year for two years of graduate study focusing on peace and development issues ($5000/year) for women from developing countries who have been accepted into a graduate program.
The Italian Student Loan Fund: The Italian Student Loan Fund (Fondo per Studenti Italiani) is a non-profit institution established with contributions from Italian and American companies, banks and organizations. Within the framework of improving relationships between the United States of America and Italy, the Fund offers financial aid to Italian university graduates, who wish to attend a Post-Graduate course in the United States.
JN Tata Endowment for the Education of Indians: The Endowment awards only loan scholarships. However, the selected scholars may also qualify for a gift award.
Joint Japan World Bank Fellowship Program: In 1987, the World Bank, with funding from the Government of Japan, established the World Bank Graduate Scholarship Program for graduate studies in subjects related to economic development. Each year, the Program awards scholarships to individuals from World Bank member countries to undertake graduate studies at renowned universities throughout member countries of the Bank.
George and Victoria Karelias Foundation: Scholarships for graduate level studies for Greek students in the fields of business administration, economics, public administration and shipping.
Kemlu-Fulbright Program: The Kemlu-Fulbright Program is a scholarship cooperation program between Aminef and MoFA of Indonesia to facilitate study at respected U.S. universities for Indonesian diplomats and future diplomats. Note: this program is different from the standard Fulbright.
Kosciuszko Foundation: The Kosciuszko Foundation annually awards a number of Fellowships/Grants to Poles and U.S. citizens of Polish descent for advanced study/research or teaching at Universities and other institutions of higher learning in the United States. The Foundation provides a cost-of-living stipend which includes transatlantic travel, housing allowance, health and accident insurance coverage, and, when warranted, domestic transportation. Awards range from $7,650 to $25,500.
Kosovo-American Education Fund: The Kosovo American Education Fund (KAEF) Graduate Fellowship Program offers eight to ten graduate fellowships at American universities to talented Kosovars who demonstrate a strong commitment to the economic development of their country in fields which include, but are not limited to: Agriculture, Business Administration, Economics, Engineering, Environmental Management and Policy, Journalism and Mass Communications, Law, Public Administration/Policy, and Renewable Energy. The applicant must demonstrate convincingly, however, that their study in their field of choice will have a direct and beneficial impact on the economic development of Kosovo. To be eligible, applicants must be citizens of Kosovo, proficient in written and spoken English, and committed to returning to Kosovo after completion of the program.
Lanekassen Grants for Norwegian Students Abroad: Tuition support at the postgraduate level and for study abroad programs will be given as a 70 percent grant and 30 percent loan up to the amount of NOK 60 560. Further tuition support exceeding this amount will be given as a loan. If the tuition fee exceeds NOK 118 420, an additional grant may be given. Only full-time studies are eligible, and the student must have resided in Norway for a continuous period of at least two years during the last five years before undertaking the educational program.
LASPAU: LASPAU is a nonprofit organization affiliated with Harvard University and governed by an independent, inter-American board of trustees. LASPAU designs, develops, and implements academic and professional programs to benefit the Americas.
Leventis Foundation: Provides grants for Cypriot doctoral candidates and post-graduate students to study abroad in the U.S. and other countries.
Li Po Chun Charitable Trust Fund – Overseas Postgraduate Study Scholarship: The Li Po Chun Charitable Trust Fund provides scholarships for students from Hong Kong to pursue postgraduate studies in universities or institutions overseas. Candidates should be: Hong Kong residents having resided in Hong Kong for a continuous period of no less than 7 years; holders of either a degree from a university in Hong Kong or recognized equivalent qualifications; in possession of substantial practical working experience in the relevant field of study; eligible for admission to the intended course of study; and available to attend an interview to be conducted in Hong Kong.
George Lurcy Foundation: Grants for French students for graduate study in the social sciences, arts, and humanities in the U.S.
Mackenzie King Scholarship: Eligibility: The Mackenzie King Open Scholarship is open to graduates of any Canadian university who engage in postgraduate study in any field, in Canada or elsewhere. The Mackenzie King Traveling Scholarship is open to graduates of any Canadian university who engage in postgraduate study, in the United States or the United Kingdom, of international relations or industrial relations (including the international or industrial relations aspects of law, history, politics and economics).
Marcus Wallenberg Foundation Grant Program: Funding for higher education for Swedish citizens. Eligibility: Swedish citizenship. The purpose of the Grant Program (the Program) of The Marcus Wallenberg Foundation (the Foundation) is to assist certain individuals interested in pursuing careers in or professionals or students studying aspects of international trade or business by providing them funds to be used in defraying their educational expenses or to provide a stipend or prize to assist in the completion or publication of their studies. It is open to all disciplines related to international industry.
The Margaret McNamara Memorial Fund: The Margaret McNamara Memorial Fund (MMMF) was established in 1981 to honor the late Margaret McNamara and her commitment to the well-being of women and children in developing countries. The purpose of the grant is to support the education of women from developing countries who are committed to improving the lives of women and children in their home countries.
Edward E. Masters Program: The USINDO Edward E. Masters Fellows Program, currently in its sixth year, funds the education and manages the placement of select officials from Indonesian Ministries at leading schools in the United States. Masters Fellows are nominated by their Ministry and must meet the requirements of the Masters Fellows Program, with exacting standards applied by USINDO and other committee members during the selection process
Medicus Student Exchange Program: The Swiss Benevolent Society of New York (SBS) administers one to three partial grants from a fund established by Dr. Heinrich Medicus to promote student exchange between Switzerland and the United States. The grants are 10 months in length and are not renewable. Applicants must fulfill the following conditions: (1) Swiss citizenship, (2) hold an excellent undergraduate degree from a university or a university of applied sciences, (3) English proficiency with a TOEFL Internet-based iBT score of 100 or higher.
Namibian Fulbright Junior Staff Development Program: Established in 1946, this program sends Namibians to the U.S. each year on fully-funded or partially-funded fellowships for Masters and Doctorate-level degrees. A four-year degree from a recognized university is required and applications are accepted in all fields. Preference is given to candidates with little or no previous U.S. experience. Applicants must be Namibian citizens.
Applications must be completed and submitted before November of each year. Preliminary applications can be collected in October at the American Cultural Center, Third Floor, Sanlam Center, Independence Avenue, Windhoek, or contact George Beukes for an application form.
Narotam Sekhsaria Foundation Scholarships: The Narotam Sekhsaria Foundation under its Scholarship Programme awards interest-free loan scholarships to Indian students with a consistently good academic record. The scholarship amount (upto a maximum of Rs. 20 lakhs) is decided as per the assessment of the Foundation. The scholarships are awarded to students who wish to pursue their postgraduate studies in the fields of Pure Sciences, Applied Sciences, Social Sciences and Humanities, Law, Architecture and Management at prestigious Indian and international universities.
The Netherland-America Foundation (NAF):
– Dutch Student Program: The NAF provides fellowships to Dutch graduate students for an academic year of study and/or research in the United States. Recipients also enjoy the advantages of the support of the NAF in New York, consisting of a get-together in New York City and the support of its office. The NAF awards the grants to candidates pre-selected by the Fulbright Center in Amsterdam. Application forms are available on its website (www.fulbright.nl). Successful applicants will be notified in May.
– NAF Educational Loan Program: The NAF provides loans, interest-free for three years, to eligible students and professionals studying in either the United States or the Netherlands. Only U.S. or Dutch citizens may apply.
Priority will be given to students pursuing study or research in an advanced academic degree program (e.g. Masters or Doctoral degree) at an accredited institution of higher learning. Students attending summer programs as part of their graduate education may also apply. The maximum loan amount for a year of academic study or research is $10,000 and for a summer program is $2,000.
If funds are available, the NAF will consider requests from individuals who are enrolled in a course, or courses, with the intent of developing a skill or specific technical expertise. The course of study must culminate with the award of a diploma or certificate. The maximum loan amount for a year of advanced training is $3,000.
The Norway-America Association (Norge-Amerika Foreningen): Graduate Study and Research Stipend
The Norway-America Association offers stipends to Norwegian citizens for graduate study and research in the U.S. Award amounts range from $2,000 to $20,000.
The Norwegian State Educational Loan Fund (Lånekassen): A government-sponsored program that offers tuition and travel assistance for Norwegian students studying full time outside of Norway.
Nuffic VSB Foundation: Scholarships for Dutch students who want to do graduate level work abroad. Awards are for up to 2 years and cover all related academic costs, including a monthly allowance.
Olomouc Region Study Scholarship: Offers partial scholarship support for students from Olomouc region.
Alexander S. Onassis Public Benefit: Awards scholarships to Greek students for doctoral and post-graduate studies abroad.
OFID (The OPEC Fund for International Development) Scholarship Award: OFID (The OPEC Fund for International Development) is pleased to announce that qualified applicants who have obtained or are on the verge of completing their undergraduate degree and who wish to study for a Master’s degree are welcome to apply for the OFID Scholarship. The OFID scholarship will be awarded to support one student or candidate for Master’s degree studies. The applicant may be from any developing country, and he/she must first obtain admission to pursue a Master’s degree studies in a relevant field of development, in any recognized university/college in the world. The winner of the OFID Scholarship Award will receive a scholarship of up to US$100,000. The funds will be spread over a maximum of two years, toward the completion of a Master’s degree, or its equivalent, at an accredited educational institution.
Open Society Foundations: Open Society Foundations (OSF) awards grants, scholarships, and fellowships on a regular basis throughout the year. Applicants can determine their eligibility and view relevant initiatives and application guidelines. More specifically, MSFS has partnered with OSF to offer Civil Society Leadership Awards (CSLA).
Opportunity Program: Opportunity funding, provided by the U.S. Department of State Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs, supports talented international students with the application process to U.S. higher education institutions. Opportunity provides funds to talented international students who are highly competitive for full financial aid but who do not have the financial means to apply to universities in the United States and who are not eligible for (or not funded by) U.S. Government-sponsored exchange programs. Opportunity offers no guarantee of acceptance or financial aid awards at U.S. institutions. To be eligible for the Opportunity Program, a student must be a citizen of Belarus, the Russian Federation or Ukraine. Note: Alumni of the Fulbright and Muskie programs and students currently studying at a U.S. higher education institution are not eligible for the Opportunity Program. FLEX and UGRAD alumni are eligible. U.S. citizens and permanent residents are not eligible for the Opportunity Program.
Panpaphian Association of America: Awards scholarships based on various criteria such as grades, school, recommendation letters, and community involvement.
P.E.O. International Peace Scholarship: P.E.O International Peace Scholarship Fund, established in 1949, provides scholarships for selected women from other countries for graduate study in the United States and Canada. Applicants must be qualified for admission to full-time graduate study, working toward a graduate degree in a college or university in the United States or Canada. The maximum amount awarded to a student is $10,000.
Rafael del Pino Foundation: The Rafael del Pino Foundation provides scholarships for Spanish graduates and higher-degree graduates, for the continuation of their studies in universities and research centers. The Foundation aims to train future leaders, especially in the fields of economics, law, business, politics, international relations, mass media and teaching.
Programa Conjunto CONACYT – FUNED: Successful applicants will receive a scholarship of $25,000 for their M.A. program in the social sciences, business, and science fields that FUNED finances. In addition, students would receive a loan from FUNED to complement the scholarship. This scholarship/ loan is available for students who have already applied and been accepted to the university program.
Prospect Burma Scholarship: Prospect Burma runs an annual scholarship competition for Burmese students wishing to study abroad. Students must be accepted or already completing a Master’s degree before applying.
Renaissance Scholarship Fund: Supports students from the city of Usti nad Labem and its region. Administered by the Euroregion Labe Community Foundation.
Roma Education Fund Supplementary Grant Program: The Roma Supplementary Scholarship Grant Programme (RSSGP) is designed to provide partial support to Roma students who are citizens of one of the following countries: Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Hungary, Kosovo, Macedonia, Moldova, Montenegro, Romania, Russia, Serbia, Slovakia, Turkey, and Ukraine, for pursuing Bachelor, Master, Doctorate, or Postdoctoral education outside of their home country. The aim of the scholarship is to promote the academic mobility of Roma students and support their academic integration internationally. Scholarships are merit-based and awarded for one academic year with possibility for renewal.
Romanian Government Scholarship: Partial funding for undergraduate study, graduate study, and post-doctoral research; covers international travel and living expenses for 60 students. Funded by the Ministry of Education, Research, Youth, and Sport and administered by the Loans and Study Scholarships Agency.
Leo S. Rowe Pan American Fund: The Leo S. Rowe Pan American Fund, or the Rowe Fund, is an educational loan program of the Organization of American States (OAS). The Rowe Fund helps citizens from Latin America and the Caribbean OAS Member countries finance their studies or research in accredited universities across the United States by awarding interest-free loans for up to $15,000 dollars.
These loans are granted on the understanding that recipients agree to repay the loan in full and return to their home countries to apply their knowledge and training as well as continue to promote cultural exchange and development in the region. Rowe Fund loans are also available to academics and professionals with support from the university where they work in Latin America or the Caribbean for refresher courses and professional development in the United States. In general, courses or research must last at least one academic semester and be completed within a period of two years.
Slovene Human Resources Development and Scholarship Fund: Administers numerous scholarship programs for study abroad such as:
– Ad futura for study abroad: scholarships for undergraduate studies in STEM fields or graduate studies in all fields except the arts; awarded for the full duration of study provided student meets the program requirements. After completion of studies the student must return to Slovenia for employment (limited exception is possible if continuing study).
– Corporate Scholarships: employers in Slovenia offer scholarships as part of their long-term recruitment strategy. They can be also obtained for study abroad provided both student and employer agree, while some are offered specifically for study abroad.
– Municipality and private foundation scholarships: many Slovene municipalities as well as private foundations offer various scholarships either based on residency or field of study. Scholarships exist for athletes, arts, legal studies, etc.
– State Scholarships: need-based scholarships awarded for study in Slovenia or abroad for either undergraduate or graduate studies. Although there is no limit regarding field of studies, students of certain deficit programs will be entitled to a higher scholarship based on chosen subject.
– Zois Scholarships: merit scholarships awarded to students with high GPA or outstanding achievements for study in Slovenia or abroad for high school, undergraduate or graduate studies. There is no limit regarding field of studies, but students of certain deficit programs will be entitled to a higher scholarship based on chosen subject.
Sophia Foundation: Supports education for Czech students in many forms, including study abroad.
State Oil Company of Azerbaijan Republic Scholarship Program (SOCAR): Provides full funding for Azerbaijani citizens interested in pursuing a career in the oil and gas industry and pursuing Master’s programs in petroleum engineering, information technology, accounting, international law and business. The scholarships, awarded to 50 students per year, are fully funded by SOCAR and cover application fees, visa-related expenses, tuition, medical insurance, transportation, and living expenses.
Statens Lanekasse for Utdanning: This State Educational Loan Fund provides educational grants and loans for Norwegian students abroad.
Studenica Foundation: Scholarships and publishing support to individuals in the Republic of Serbia.
StudySoup – Global Student: Every year, thousands of international students look to pursue a higher education in the U.S. But for many, this dream remains out of reach due to the massive costs of attending an American university. To help ease this financial burden, StudySoup is offering a $2,000 to one international student planning to attend an American school for a minimum of 10 months.
The Sweden-America Foundation (Sverige-Amerika Stiftelsen): Every year, the Sweden-America Foundation awards approximately 40 fellowships for Master’s, PhD, and Post doc studies in the United States and Canada. Swedish citizens with a completed undergraduate degree are eligible to apply.

Talentia: The Talentia Fellowship Program provides scholarships for graduate study abroad, including the U.S., to Spanish students who demonstrate a link to Andalusia, either by birth, permanent residence, university studies or career path. Talentia recommends certain universities depending on the field of study desired, but will consider additional options based on demonstrated prestige of the proposed university.
Turkish Education Foundation (TEV): Provides up to $100,000 for two years of master’s level studies; covers tuition and living expenses, and in some circumstances, travel. Every autumn, TEV determines the fields of study and the number of open positions for the scholarships.
Turkish Ministry of National Education Scholarships (MEB): Covers all academic expenses and monthly stipend for living expenses, return plane ticket and health insurance. Can be used for General English studies, Master’s and Ph.D. levels.
Lilian Voudouri Foundation: Scholarships for graduate-level studies for Greek students in a variety of fields.

WorldWideStudies: The project encourages Ukrainian youth to get Master’s degrees in the world’s best universities in the fields selected by the Foundation as top priority for further development of Ukraine. Grants are offered in the following four fields: agricultural studies, environment and ecology, law and public administration. The grant primarily covers tuition fees, books and medical insurance. The grant amount is based on the needs and merits of each student. The majority of grants cover up to 60% of the amount required.
Zeta Phi Beta Sorority Educational Foundation Deborah Partridge Wolfe International Fellowship: This award is available to graduate or undergraduate U.S. students studying abroad and/or graduate or undergraduate foreign students studying within the U.S. Awarded for full-time study for one academic year (Fall-Spring). Amount varies from $500 to $1,000 – paid directly to recipient. Documented proof of academic study and plan of program must be sent to the Scholarship Chairperson with signature of school administrator or Program Director. A self-addressed, stamped envelope must be mailed to the office between September 1 and December 1, in order to receive scholarship materials. Requests for scholarship materials cannot be faxed. All materials requested on the application are to be sent to the listed address on the application not to National Headquarters. Do not send transcripts, reference letters, etc. with your request for a scholarship application. The application has detailed information as to what is needed to return with the completed application to the appropriate office.

Abe Fellowship Program: The Abe Fellowship Program encourages international multidisciplinary research on topics of pressing global concern. It fosters the development of a new generation of researchers interested in policy-relevant topics and willing to become key members of a bilateral and global research network.
Alpha Epsilon Phi Foundation: The Alpha Epsilon Phi Foundation offers scholarships for both undergraduate and graduate studies to AEPhi members. All applicants must have a minimum GPA of 3.0 and will be scored based on academic performance; chapter, campus and community activities and need. Graduate applicants must have completed at least one year of graduate studies prior to applying.
Alpha Kappa Alpha Educational Advancement Foundation, Inc.: The Foundation awards Merit and Financial Need graduate scholarships.
American Association of University Women Career Development Grant: Career Development Grants provide funding to women who hold a bachelor’s degree and are preparing to advance or change careers or re-enter the workforce. Primary consideration is given to women of color and women pursuing their first advanced degree or credentials in nontraditional fields.
Grants provide support for coursework beyond a bachelor’s degree, including a master’s degree, second bachelor’s degree, certification program, or specialized training in technical or professional fields. Course work must be taken at an accredited two- or four-year college or university in the United States, or at a technical school that is fully licensed or accredited by the U.S. Department of Education. Funds are not available for PhD-level work.
American Council of the Blind Scholarship: The American Council of the Blind (ACB) annually awards approximately twenty scholarships ranging in amounts from $1,000 to $3,500 to vocational, entering freshmen, undergraduate, and graduate students who are legally blind, maintain a 3.3 GPA and are involved in their school/local community.
American Foundation for the Blind Scholarships: The American Foundation for the Blind awards scholarships ranging from $500 to $2,500 to students with vision loss.
Armenian General Benevolent Union (AGBU): AGBU offers scholarships to full-time graduate and post-graduate students of Armenian descent who are U.S. residents or citizens. Grants are available for up to three years of graduate study and up to two years of PhD study. Applicants must be enrolled in degree programs at highly competitive colleges and universities in the United States with a GPA of 3.5 and above. All areas of graduate and post-graduate study will be considered. Preference will be given to the fields of Communication, Education, International Relations, and Public Administration.
Armenian International Women’s Association (AIWA): Scholarships are awarded to full-time female students of Armenian descent attending accredited colleges or universities. Students entering their junior or senior year in college, as well as graduate students, are eligible to apply for the awards. Awards are based on financial need and merit.
The Getsoyian, Missirian and Najarian scholarships are awarded to students of any subject or major.
The Lucy Kasparian Aharonian scholarships, awarded in conjunction with the Society for Women Engineers Boston Chapter, are earmarked for students in the fields of science, mathematics, engineering, technology, computer science, and architecture.
Armenian Relief Society of Eastern USA: The ARS Eastern USA provides graduate and undergraduate scholarships to students of Armenian descent. Graduate students who have graduated from an accredited four-year college or university and undergraduate students who plan to attend or are attending an accredited four-year college or university are eligible. Scholarships are awarded from restricted funds established solely for scholarship purposes as directed by donors. ARS scholarship evaluation committees evaluate applicants’ merit, financial need, and Armenian community involvement to determine whether to recommend a scholarship award.
Armenian Relief Society of North America Eremian Scholarship: The ARS Samuel and Aghavni Eremian Scholarship Fund supports students interested in pursuing educational studies that would benefit their local community after graduation. Scholarships are awarded based on merit, need, and Armenian community involvement. Applicants must be accepted as a full-time undergraduate or graduate student at an accredited college or university.
Citibank Student Loans: Citibank offers educational loan opportunities, including the CitiAssist Graduate Loan program.
Community Associations Institute Research Foundation: The Byron Hanke Fellowship is available to graduate students working on topics related to community associations. Stipends range from $3,000-$5,000. Hanke Fellowship applicants must be enrolled in an accredited master’s, doctoral, or law program in the United States of America or Canada. Students of all disciplines are welcome to apply for the Hanke Fellowship, provided their studies relate to community associations generally and to the topic of the candidate’s proposed community associations research project. Fellows are expected to prepare a research paper on community associations.
Consortium Research Fellows Program: The Consortium Research Fellows Program (CRFP) began in 1981 as a partnership between the U.S. Army Research Institute for the Behavioral and Social Sciences (ARI) and the Consortium of Universities of the Washington Metropolitan Area. Consortium Research Fellows (graduate students) are assigned to research or technical teams at the sponsoring agencies and work up to 20 hours per week during the school year and full-time in the summer. They earn between $20,400 and $40,500 per year for 1,300 hours of service. More importantly, they develop professionally under the mentorship of national experts in their fields, co-author publications and presentations, and often accomplish their Master’s theses or Doctoral dissertations using fellowship research.
Cosmos Scholars Grant Program: The Cosmos Club Foundation grant program provides grants to meet specific research needs not covered by other supporting funds, including but not limited to special supplies, travel, unanticipated expenses that would enhance the work, and the like. Specifically excluded are general financial support, tuition, and living expenses (except in connection with supported travel). The number of grants to be awarded is not rigidly fixed but is expected to be at least fifteen. Amounts of awards will be determined individually and are in the range of $500 to $4,000.
Council of Citizens with Low Vision International Scholarships: CCLVI provides scholarships to full-time students with visual impairments. Award amounts and application deadlines vary, and medical verification of low vision is required.
Davis-Putter Scholarship Fund: The Davis-Putter Scholarship Fund provides grants to students actively working for peace and justice. These need-based scholarships are awarded to those able to do academic work at the university level and who are part of the progressive movement on the campus and in the community. Recent grantees have been active in the struggle against racism, sexism, homophobia, and other forms of oppression; building the movement for economic justice; and creating peace through international anti-imperialist solidarity.
US citizenship is not required, but applicants must have participated in activities in the United States and be planning to enroll in an accredited program in the US in order to apply. The maximum grant is $10,000 and may be considerably smaller depending on the applicant’s circumstances and the amount of money available. Grants are for one year although students may re-apply for subsequent years.
Mayme and Herb Frank Scholarship Program: Thanks to Herb and Mayme Frank who generously endowed the Frank Educational Fund, the Streit Council today awards scholarships and grants through the Association to Unite the Democracies (AUD). Scholarship grants are awarded to US and foreign students for post-graduate work focusing on federalism in its application to international integration.
George Mason Institute for Humane Studies Fellowship: The Humane Studies Fellowship is a non-residency fellowship program that awards up to $15,000 per year to pursue a liberty-advancing career in academia. The fellowship is open to current or prospective full-time graduate students (including law students) from accredited universities anywhere in the world who have previously received IHS funding at any level or participated in an IHS program (like a summer seminar, research colloquium, policy seminar, or a summer graduate research fellowship).
Georgetown Office of Fellowships and Awards: While the Office of Fellowships and Awards is interested in helping students win competitive fellowships, that is not its primary purpose. The Office assists students in realizing the direction best suited to their individual passions and talents as well as help them learn how best to convey these interests to others. Hellenic Times Scholarship Program: The Hellenic Times will award over $100,000 in scholarships this year to Greek American students across the country.
Houtan Scholarship Foundation: The Houtan Foundation offers scholarships to students from all origins – Iranian and non-Iranian – who have high academic performance and a proven interest in promoting Iran’s great culture, heritage, language and civilization. The candidates for the award must demonstrate leadership ability and the desire to make a difference in the society where they reside. Currently, one award of $3500 per year will be given toward graduate school education for the selected applicant.
Japanese American Citizens League: Founded in 1929, the JACL is the oldest and largest Asian American civil rights organization in the United States. The JACL has been helping students achieve their educational dreams with the National Scholarship and Awards Program since 1946. The National Scholarship and Awards Program offers scholarships to entering freshmen as well as other undergraduate, graduate and law students.
Kappa Kappa Gamma Foundation Scholarships: Kappa Kappa Gamma Foundation Scholarships/Fellowships/Grants are available to women who are members of Kappa Kappa Gamma. Most scholarships consist of a $3,000 award.
Korean-American Scholarship Foundation Eastern Region Scholarships: Scholarships available to Korean-American and Korean students enrolled in a full-time undergraduate or graduate program in the United States. Selection based on financial need, academic achievement, school activities, and community services.
La Unidad Latina Scholarship: La Unidad Latina Foundation awards scholarship grants to worthy and needy students for the pursuit of higher education. Eligible degrees include: Master of Arts, Master of Science, Master of Public Administration/Policy, Master of Social Work. Must have completed at least one full-time semester of study for graduate applicants. Applicants must reside in the United States.
The Lint Center for National Security Studies, Inc.: The Lint Center for National Security Studies, Inc., founded in 2007, is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization created to award merit-based scholarships for Counterintelligence and National Security Workers, their children and scholars, and to advance the study of National Security, cross-cultural studies, and global understanding.
Luys Foundation: The Luys Foundation offers scholarships for students who are Armenians, citizens of Armenia or of Armenian descent. Applicants must be between the ages of 18 and 40 years old at the time of application and will be asked to provide proof of identity or that he/she is a direct descendant of Armenian immigrants.

Mustard Seed Foundation– Harvey Fellows Program: The Program seeks applications from Christians engaging in graduate study at premier universities. The Fellowships are designed to recognize, encourage, and support Christians who aspire to leadership in strategic realms of society where Christians appear to be underrepresented. National Federation of the Blind Scholarship Program: To recognize achievement by blind scholars, the National Federation of the Blind annually offers blind college students in the United States the opportunity to win one of thirty national scholarships worth from $3,000 to $12,000.
Organization of American States (OAS) Scholarships: The objective of the Organization of American States (OAS) Scholarships is to assist the Member States (U.S, Canada, and Caribbean and Latin America) with their domestic efforts in pursuit of integral development goals by supporting human resource development. Scholarships are awarded for an initial period of one academic year and may be renewed subsequently for up to one additional year if funds remain available and if the renewal is necessary to complete the program of study or research for which the scholarship was initially awarded.
Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society Fellowships: The Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi currently awards fifty-one fellowships of $5,000 each and six of $15,000 each to members entering the first year of graduate or professional study. Each active Phi Kappa Phi chapter may select one candidate from among its local applicants to compete for the society-wide awards.
Philanthropic Educational Organization (P.E.O.) International: P.E.O. International has a wide range of programs, scholarships and loans to help students of all nationalities start and finish educational programs in the U.S. and Canada.
Pi Gamma Mu Scholarships: Pi Gamma Mu’s scholarships are intended for the first or second year of graduate work in the areas of sociology, anthropology, political science, history, economics, international relations, public administration, criminal justice, law, social work, psychology, and human/cultural geography. Zonta International Jane M. Klausman Women in Business Scholarship: Women pursuing a business or business-related degree who demonstrate outstanding potential in the field are eligible. The program operates at the Zonta club, district and international levels. Zonta clubs provide awards for club recipients. Zonta International awards scholarships of $1,000 each at the district level and 12 international scholarships in the amount of $7,000 each. The Jane M.
