Jasmin Alsaied
Lieutenant Jasmin Alsaied is a graduate candidate in the Master of Science in Foreign Service (MSFS) program at Georgetown University, pursuing a concentration in Global Politics & Security and a Certificate of Diplomatic Studies. Her current research focuses on the nexus of nuclear deterrence strategy, maritime security in the Indo-Pacific, and the role of emerging technology in high-end warfare.
Prior to joining MSFS, Jasmin earned her B.S. from North Carolina State University, where she studied nuclear engineering and mathematics. She earned her commission through the NROTC program and was subsequently stationed onboard USS LASSEN (DDG 82). During her four years attached to LASSEN, she completed a Middle East deployment with the TRUMAN Strike Group, participated in the maiden voyage for HMS Queen Elizabeth, GERALD R. FORD shock trials, and engaged in Caribbean counter-narcotic operations. In DC, Jasmin has worked on Capitol Hill and with several national security think tanks. She is currently a research associate with the Center for Global Security Research and a Dulles Fellow with the Institute for the Study of Diplomacy.
