Title: Hoyas United in Graduate Service Lead Trip to Michaux State Forest

On Saturday, March 29, Hoyas United in Graduate Service (HUGS) led a service trip to Michaux State Forest in southeast Pennsylvania. Ranger Todd Ottinger led the service trip at Michaux State Forest and supervised the volunteers while they worked on trail maintenance.

14 students also had the opportunity to spend the night in the Anna Michener cabin, a rustic abode without running water and electricity. These students enjoyed smoked meats and s’mores for dinner and had a great experience.

Paul Martin, MSFS’15, helped to organize the event. After the trip, he thought “it was a rewarding experience to work together and bond with [his] classmates in the great outdoors. It’s student-led activities like the HUGS outdoor service trip that allow [students] to really get to know fellow MSFSers and make the MSFS community as tight-knit as it is.”
