Mariam Malik
Mariam Malik, a native New Yorker from Long Island, is a dedicated public servant and advocate for international human rights. While studying Political Science at Stony Brook University, Mariam was an intern for the New York State Senate and was awarded the Critical Language Scholarship to study Arabic in 2021. She was a participant of the Cox Diplomacy Seminar and an intern for the U.S. Department of State’s Office to Monitor and Combat Trafficking in Persons. At Stony Brook University, Mariam was the founder and President of the National Political Science Society Chapter at Stony Brook. After graduation, Mariam taught English in Kyrgyzstan as part of the Fulbright scholarship. She hopes to explore her interests in international security and human rights at the Department of State. Outside of work, Mariam is an avid reader who loves being outdoors, finding new recipes, and spending time with her loved ones.
