Helga Schroeder
Helga is a passionate humanitarian professional with over three years of experience in the non-profit sector. Following obtaining her undergraduate degree in International Affairs from the University of Georgia, she started her career working in various direct service roles, such as Family Reunification Specialist and Resettlement Specialist, at the International Rescue Committee's (IRC) Atlanta office. During her time at the IRC's Atlanta office, she had the privilege of working with the beneficiaries of several federal grants to submit family reunification applications to USCIS, obtain vital immigration documents for over 695 Afghan nationals arriving under "Operation Allies Welcome", and deliver resettlement services. After two years of service at the Atlanta office, she transitioned to the IRC's HQ office in New York to oversee monitoring and evaluation efforts through the Program Manager, Monitoring and Compliance position, her most recent role. She looks forward to enriching her understanding of foreign service and international development through the MSFS degree and meeting fellow classmates!
