Johanna Friman
Johanna Friman is from Sweden. She has always been curious about different cultures and has strived to play a role in making the world a better place. She is one of the two founders of the NGO Pamoja Girls, which works across five continents to empower girls worldwide.
Her experiences include, among other things, working with an NGO in the townships outside of Cape Town, spending a summer at the United Nations Headquarters in New York, and interning at the Swedish Embassy in Kampala. These experiences have fueled her excitement to continue exploring ways to contribute to the international community.
After completing her bachelor’s degree in Leadership and International Law at the Swedish Defence University, she is eager to continue her studies in Foreign Service. During her time at Georgetown, she aims to explore the consequences of leaders yielding to power and the methods to prevent corruption. By gaining a comprehensive understanding, she hopes to equip herself with the knowledge necessary to contribute meaningfully to the ongoing global discourse on leadership, corruption, and positive change.
