Hessa Alyahya
Hessa Alyahya is currently pursuing her studies in the Master of Science in Foreign Service program at Georgetown University, concentrating on Global Politics & Security. Her academic focus at Georgetown includes international security, politics, counterterrorism, and energy, with a special focus on emerging global conflicts, particularly in the Middle East.
A graduate of Pace University in New York City, Hessa earned her B.A in Political Science, with additional minors in Economics and History.
With a proven track record of excellence, Hessa previously served as a National Project Assistant at the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. In this role, she played a pivotal part in enhancing Saudi Arabia's presence within the United Nations. Her commitment to international relations was further demonstrated during her extensive three-year internship at the Permanent Mission of Saudi Arabia to the United Nations in New York. During this time, she actively contributed to various UN committees, such as Disarmament & International Security, Economic & Financial, Special Political and Decolonization, as well as the Security Council. Her focus areas included the Situation in the Middle East, Children in Armed Conflicts, eradication of poverty, Renewable Energy and Climate Change, Peacekeeping, and Counter-terrorism.
Currently, Hessa holds a significant position as a Media Relations Expert in the Public Diplomacy and Media Affairs Department at the Embassy of Saudi Arabia in the U.S. In this capacity, she plays a vital role in fostering engagement with key stakeholders in both the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the United States, operating under the esteemed guidance of HRH Ambassador Reema Bandar Al Saud.
