Emily Santucci
Emily Santucci is a graduate candidate in the Master of Science in Foreign Service (MSFS) program at Georgetown University. Emily is pursuing a concentration in International Development with academic and professional interests in post-conflict stabilization, development project implementation, and humanitarian crises response.
Currently, Emily serves as Deputy Registrar in the U.S. Department of Defense’s Near East South Asia Center for Strategic Studies (NESA). Emily closely coordinates with U.S. embassies abroad, foreign ministries, and partner shareholders to support USG security cooperation initiatives. Through execution of NESA’s educational training programs, Emily values cultivating people-to-people relationships between foreign government officials from the Middle East, North Africa, Europe, and Indo-Pacific regions. She has traveled to support NESA activities in Singapore, Thailand, Indonesia, Germany, and Morocco.
Emily is originally from Pittsburgh, PA and holds a B.A. in International Affairs and Middle East Studies, and a minor in Arabic Studies, from the Elliott School of International Affairs at The George Washington University. To complement her undergraduate studies, Emily developed her research, diplomacy, and policymaking skills through internships with the Atlantic Council’s Rafik Hariri Center for the Middle East, the U.S. Department of Treasury’s Office of International Affairs, and the U.S. House of Representatives. In 2019, she also studied Arabic abroad at the Qasid Institute in Amman, Jordan.
