Ramin Farrokhi
Ramin Farrokhi is a graduate student in the Master of Science in Foreign Service (MSFS) program at Georgetown University. Ramin is pursuing a concentration in Global Politics and Security and focusing on the practices of diplomacy and negotiation in the context of the Middle East.
Before joining Georgetown, Ramin worked as a researcher and writer covering Middle Eastern and South Asian affairs. His work helped inform thousands of U.S. government and international partners on illicit economies, humanitarian issues, and militant activity in the regions. His team also helped respond to international disasters such as the 2023 Turkey–Syria earthquakes and the 2020 port explosion in Beirut, Lebanon. Outside of work, Ramin has contributed to academic studies researching the viability of insurgent social media and best practices for improving undergraduate classrooms through experiential education.
Ramin graduated Cum Laude from the University of Washington in 2020, where he studied Political Science and International Security.
