Rebecca Abraham
Rebecca received a B.A. in International Relations at Pepperdine University as well as a Certificate in Conflict Management from Pepperdine's Law School. Over the past 4 years since graduating, she has worked in a variety of roles from business strategy and operations to diplomacy and compliance. The common thread in all her past work has been a passion for building trust between nations through trade and economic prosperity.
Rebecca interned at the US Embassy in Kathmandu while at Pepperdine. Upon graduation, she worked in the export strategy division for a major Indian retailer in Delhi. These experiences sparked in her a primary interest in exploring and improving trade relations between the US and South Asia. For the last few years, she has been working at Oracle (B2B SAAS company) as a Compliance Analyst, directly reporting to the Chief Compliance Officer. Being a part of a compliance team in Big Tech has enabled her to understand the practical implications of macro-economic and policy factors that lead to a breakdown of trust in global markets for US businesses.
Rebecca will be pursuing a dual MSFS/MPP degree at Georgetown, with the objective focus in the domains of regulatory stability and anti-corruption policy, as well as on the expansion of fair and resilient trade. She believes a joint MSFS/MPP degree can bridge the gap between her interests, experience, and a more nuanced understanding of the domestic and global policy processes at play in the US’ key partnerships in the South Asian region.
