Minami Nuibe
Minami Nuibe is a first-year Master of Science in Foreign Service (MSFS) candidate concentrating on Global Policy and Security. She has served as a civilian defense official for Japan’s Ministry of Defense for over six years since 2018. She has experience in diverse affairs regarding Japan’s security, such as defense cooperation, personnel affairs, and budgeting. Her most recent position was as a Legal and Policy Advisor for aviation and BMD operations at the Joint Staff Office located in Tokyo, giving her deep knowledge of aviation and missile defense policy. She earned her Bachelor of Laws and Politics from Kwansei Gakuin University in Japan. Furthermore, she interned at the Australian Mission of the International Committee of the Red Cross, which shaped her interest in global affairs. Her academic interests include international security, US-East Asia relations, missile defense, and defense force planning.
