Ju Ran Park
Ju Ran Park is a first-year MSFS student concentrating in Global Politics and Security. She serves as a foreign service officer for the Republic of Korea (ROK) and possesses over six years of professional experience in diverse foreign policy domains, such as Northeast Asian affairs, ASEAN and Southeast Asian affairs, and presidential protocol. In her most recent role at the Foreign Ministry, she held the position of deputy director, managing Korea-China relations. She also served an overseas assignment at Korean Embassy in Bangkok, Thailand from 2019 to 2020, as a second secretary. She earned her bachelor’s degree in political science and diplomacy, with a double major in Economics, at Yonsei University, Seoul, in 2016. Furthermore, she studied Chinese at Tsinghua Univeristy, Beijing, in 2011. Her objective is to leverage the tools and insights acquired at Georgetown University to make valuable contributions to the public sphere. Her research will primarily focus on the challenges that Korea will encounter in a rapidly changing global landscape, and the potential role of Korean diplomacy in promoting peace, stability, and prosperity within the region and beyond.
