Soda Lo
Soda Lo is currently a first-year student at the Edmund A. Walsh School of Foreign Service’s MSFS program concentrating in International Development. She also hopes to pursue a Graduate Certificate in African Studies. Prior to Georgetown, she studied International Business and Business Analytics at the University of Maryland. She has professional experience spearheading global consulting projects as they relate to CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility), ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) finance, as well as the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals. She hopes to utilize her technical, corporate, and project development experience – in tandem with her MSFS coursework to advance in a career involving West African development. Soda was born in Dakar, Senegal before moving to the United States as a child. She enjoys traveling – especially back home – and welcomes any opportunity to explore new areas of the world! In her free time, she enjoys reading, art, and gardening.
"What primarily made MSFS stand out from all other similar programs was the community and breadth of tangible opportunities to interact with global players and practitioners. I admire MSFS’s ethos that education does not just end in the classroom and look forward to taking advantage of these hands-on opportunities throughout the next two years!"
