Shane Curran
Originally from Vancouver, Canada, Shane Curran is a second-year Master of Science in Foreign Service (MSFS) candidate with a concentration in Global Politics and Security. He previously graduated from McGill University with a Bachelor of Arts in Economics with a minor in Political Science, and was a member of McGill’s varsity baseball team for four years. While an undergraduate, Shane had the opportunity to study abroad at the University of Geneva, Switzerland, which reaffirmed his interest in international relations and diplomacy. He is fluent in French and English.
Prior to Georgetown, Shane was an analyst in HSBC’s Commercial Banking Graduate Program in Toronto, where he completed rotations in corporate banking, global trade finance, and transactional risk management. During the summer and fall of 2022, he interned at CRDF Global, an international security organization, where he focused on counterproliferation finance and sanctions enforcement issues. Shane hopes to combine his past work experiences with his current studies to pursue a career at the intersection of global trade and finance, foreign policy, and international security.
"I chose the MSFS program due to its renowned faculty, extensive international network, exceptional reputation, and strong sense of community."
