Sarah Iskander
Sarah Iskander is a second-year Master of Science in Foreign Service candidate at Georgetown University, concentrating in Science, Technology, and International Affairs. She is a multilingual professional with 8+ years in public affairs, stakeholder engagement, and policy analysis.
As Strategic Engagement Manager at Virgin Hyperloop, Sarah led public affairs for the company that tested the first new mode of transport in 100 years. She presented the potential of emerging technology to senior government officials in the U.S., Arabian Gulf, and South Asia, and served as the company’s spokesperson.Sarah additionally worked at Velocity Government Relations, UNHCR, the Smithsonian Tropical Research Institute in Panama, and the Middle East Institute. Her research focuses on diplomatic and military statecraft, space security and technology, and U.S.-Middle East defense policy.
Sarah is a recipient of the Defense Department Boren Scholarship and the State Department Critical Language Scholarship. She graduated Magna cum laude from the University of Maryland with a BA in Arabic Studies and International Development in 2015.
