Sam Whitlow
At Georgetown, Sam is focusing on the intersections of migration, conflict, diplomacy, international law, humanitarian response, and literature. He looks to study the questions of why certain states fail their citizenry; what the human consequences of such situations tend to be; and how large, boundary-crossing mechanisms like diplomacy and policy might address these issues. He also deeply enjoys writing, and hopes to utilize this medium in order to better communicate his future work to the world, no matter what precisely that ends up being. Before returning to graduate school, Sam was an Associate within the Global Banking & Markets group at Bank of America in New York City and in Singapore.
When outside of the classroom and library, Sam enjoys playing soccer, running, live music, and traveling long distances overland. He hopes to make the most of his two short years as a student at Georgetown and form lasting connections with his stellar classmates.
