Pau Ruiz Guix
Pau Ruiz Guix is a Fulbright Scholar at the Master of Science in Foreign Service (MSFS), concentrating in Science, Technology and International Affairs. Originally from the Spanish town of Figueres, he received an undergraduate degree in Global Studies from Pompeu Fabra University, where he concentrated in Asian Studies and did an exchange program in Hong Kong. In 2019 he obtained a scholarship from La Caixa Foundation to pursue a Master of Arts in European Studies at King's College London, where he specialized in EU foreign policy and EU-Asia relations.
Before joining Georgetown, Pau worked at a multitude of non-governmental organizations in the field of human rights and international cooperation, such as Azahara and Oxfam, and interned at the Advisory Council for Sustainable Development at the Government of Catalonia. He also has experience working on science diplomacy and policy consulting for regional and local governments, and is currently part of the executive team of SciTech DiploHub, the Barcelona Science and Technology Diplomacy Hub.
At MSFS, Pau focuses his research on energy and climate policy, with a specific focus on the EU and the Asia-Pacific region. He is also expanding his knowledge on trade policy, finance and private sector perspectives to energy and technology issues. He plans to pursue a career in climate policy and EU institutions.
