Michael Godley
Michael is a second-year graduate student in the Master of Science in Foreign Service Program. Michael is concentrating in Global Business, Finance and Society. In parallel to his studies, Michael is a student-employee with John Deere's Global Public Affairs team. Michael is primarily interested in U.S. commercial diplomacy in Latin America. Prior to coming to Georgetown University, Michael was a senior manager in macroeconomic and geopolitical advisory firm. In this role, Michael supported executive teams in large multinationals across the globe and across various industries. Over the last several years, Michael has lived and worked in Washington, D.C., London, Cartagena and Quito. Michael speaks fluent Spanish and is currently learning Portuguese. After graduation, Michael plans to become a Foreign Commercial Officer for the U.S. Department of Commerce.
"I chose MSFS because it is a small, tight-knit program that places on emphasis on building applicable real-world skills. I wanted to learn from professors that worked, or even still work, in the organizations where I hope to build my career, such as the Department of State, USAID, and the United Nations."
