Mèlika Carroll
Vice President, Public Affairs, Sonder
Mèlika Carroll is Vice President, Public Affairs at Sonder. She leads the team that is responsible for the company’s global strategy for sustainability, communications, and public policy.
Throughout her career, Mèlika has developed an in-depth expertise in domestic and foreign political strategy and technology policy; most recently leading the government affairs function as at Internet Association (IA). Before joining IA, Mèlika was Policy Advisor for U.S. Senator Schatz (D-HI), the Ranking Member of the Senate Commerce Committee’s Subcommittee on Communications, Technology, Innovation and the Internet. In her private sector career prior to working for Senator Schatz, Melika worked for or led public policy teams at several Fortune 500 technology companies including Salesforce, HP, Micron and Intel.
Mèlika was an Adjunct Professor at Georgetown University’s School of Foreign Service and has been a guest lecturer at Harvard Law School, Georgetown University and The Washington Campus. She is also the co-founder and former chairwoman of the Global Women’s Innovation Network, www.globalwin.org.
Before starting her career in the technology industry, Mèlika worked for the Prime Minister of Canada as well as Members of the Canadian Parliament. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in political science and public administration from the University of Ottawa in Canada and a master’s degree in European Affairs from the College of Europe in Bruges, Belgium.
