Megan Collins
Megan Collins, a native of Trumbull, Connecticut, is a second-year MSFS student concentrating in International Development at the Walsh School of Foreign Service. Her studies are concentrated in addressing the socio-economic challenges faced by developing countries, with an emphasis on gender equality, environmental sustainability, and sustainable development. Megan is currently working with the Sustainability & Social Impact Team at Viasat—a global communications company working to bridge the digital divide through satellite connectivity. In this role, she supports ESG and social impact work focused on women's empowerment and digital inclusion.
She previously served as the Manager of Global Networks and Partnerships for the Clean Cooking Alliance (CCA) at the United Nations Foundation in Washington, DC. She managed CCA’s gender and youth portfolios, providing technical and programmatic gender and youth capacity building support and supporting programmatic operations across emerging markets in the Caribbean, sub-Saharan Africa, and South Asia. Megan has worked in the field of international development for the past five years with a focus on gender equality and its nexus within energy, climate change, economic and political empowerment, displaced settings, and reproductive health. She has lived and worked in Southern Africa, conducting research and implementing projects on women’s empowerment and inclusion. Megan holds a Bachelor of Arts in Global Studies from Providence College.
