Mary Sturgis
A native of Chicago, Illinois, Mary received her B.A. in International Studies and Modern Languages (Spanish and French) from Kenyon College. As an undergraduate student, Mary studied abroad in Science Po in Strasbourg, France and worked as a Drug Trafficking and Rehabilitation Policy intern at the Council of Europe. Since 2011, she has fostered her love for Latin America through her work with Amigos de las Américas in Peru, Ecuador, Panama, and Nicaragua, and as a Fulbright Scholar and Project Manager in Argentina. In addition to her studies in the Master of Science in Foreign Service (MSFS) program, Mary interns at the US Department of State’s Bureau of Western Hemisphere Affairs and works as the Communications Associate for the Georgetown Laboratory for Global Performance and Politics. She hopes to pursue a career in public diplomacy and national security communications. She speaks Spanish, French, and Portuguese.
