María Paula Salmon
María Paula is a second-year MSFS student, concentrating in Global Politics and Security. Concurrently pursuing a Graduate Certificate in Refugees, Migration and Humanitarian Emergencies, she serves as the Community Engagement Chair of Georgetown Women in International Affairs (GWIA) club. She speaks fluent Spanish, English and French, and possesses an intermediate-level proficiency in Arabic.
Prior to her enrollment at Georgetown, Maria Paula dedicated herself to communication roles, serving as a Public Relations Officer in Guayaquil's Municipality. She also interned at the Think Tank Fundación Ecuador Libre, where she transitioned from the communications department to the research team, contributing to projects that complemented economic public policies' proposals. In the United States, she furthered her professional journey with fulfilling roles at the Ecuadorian Embassy in Washington D.C. and the Global Network Initiative (GNI), allowing her to channel her passion for human rights advocacy.
Upon completing her MSFS degree, Maria Paula aspires to commit herself to a career at the intersection of conflict resolution efforts and human rights, reflecting her deep interest in international law and diplomacy.
