Marcela Fuentes Anaya
Marcela Fuentes - Anaya has a dual degree in Political Science and Corporate Communication from the University of Texas at El Paso. At Georgetown MSFS, she is doing the Science, Technology, and International Affairs (STIA) concentration and is a candidate in the Diplomatic Studies certificate. Prior to coming to Georgetown, Marcela conducted research tracking International Intergovernmental Organization effectiveness in Human Rights issues at UTEP. She also did a fellowship with the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, with Common Cause Texas and Voto Latino. She also has experience working on Congressional Affairs since she did a summer internship with her congressional district. At Georgetown, Marcela expects to deepen her understanding of the intersection between climate migration and fragility and to work on some technological solutions to these issues. Marcela is interested in science diplomacy, cybersecurity, and artificial intelligence. Marcela speaks Spanish, English, and Portuguese and is learning French.
