Lucile Malone
Lucile Malone is an MSFS candidate concentrating in Global Politics and Security with a regional focus in the Middle East & North Africa and is fluent in Arabic. Lucile is currently a Fall 2022 MSFS Graduate Fellow supporting Dr. Paul Miller’s research on Afghanistan. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of South Florida in May 2020. Having lived through the Arab Spring in Egypt, Lucile’s passion for public service is rooted in empowering communities to be civically engaged. Lucile aspires to serve as a Public Diplomacy Officer to protect and promote U.S. core values of free speech and democracy. Starting her public service career at home, Lucile served her community in Florida as a Legislative Aide to her State Representative, Fentrice Driskell. In a highly visible position within a politically polarized state, Lucile gained skills in effective communication and relationship-building with community stakeholders. Prior to this position, Lucile served as an intern in the Washington, D.C office of Congresswoman Stephanie Murphy, a policy fellow in Emgage’s Washington, D.C. office, and as an intern for Florida State Representative Janet Cruz. Throughout her internships, Lucile worked on analyzing the impact of legislation on various communities, relaying that information to constituents, and advocating on behalf of constituents. Lucile has also worked as a volunteer with Radiant Hands in Florida where she served as a translator and first point of contact for Syrian and Afghan refugees arriving in Tampa, Florida. Lucile is looking forward to her two years at MSFS and expanding her public service career.
