Leeann Whittson
Captain (Promotable) Leeann Whittson was born and raised in Lakeville, Minnesota. She graduated the United States Military Academy in 2011 with a B.S. in Civil Engineering. She was commissioned as an Army Officer and was stationed at Fort Carson, CO for four years. She was deployed to Afghanistan in 2012 as a Combat Engineer Platoon Leader. Leeann was then stationed at Fort Bragg, NC for four years, where she attended the Civil Affairs Qualification Course. She was deployed twice as a Special Operations Civil Affairs Team Commander to the Baltics from 2017-2019. She married her husband, James Whittson, in October 2018. They recently moved to Washington, D.C. for Leeann to pursue the Master of Science in Foreign Service (MSFS) at Georgetown University. Leeann speaks Russian and is interested in Russian and Eastern European Affairs, as well as, great power competition. Upon graduation, Leeann will attend the Command and General Staff College in Fort Leavenworth, KS and continue her service as a U.S. Army Officer.
