Joy Odessa Young
Joy was born in Taiwan and grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area. She received her B.S. in Political Science with a concentration in International Relations from Santa Clara University in 2014. As an undergraduate, she traveled to Germany, the Gambia, and El Salvador through various programs and opportunities offered by the university. After graduation, she worked for 5 years in public diplomacy and international education. She implemented study abroad programs at UC Berkeley and later worked as the Associate Director of a non-profit that implemented U.S. Department of State professional exchange programs. While at Georgetown, Joy is focused on transatlantic relations and US engagement in multilateral spheres. She is also on the board of the Diversity and Inclusion at Georgetown student group. She speaks Mandarin Chinese and has studied German, Spanish, and French.
