Jiyoung Park
Jiyoung is a Master of Science in Foreign Service (MSFS) candidate with a concentration in International Development. Interested in building data-driven development strategies, Jiyoung’s passion lies in exploring diverse analytical tools to design development programs with greater impact, particularly in food security and displacement. Prior to coming to Georgetown, Jiyoung worked in public partnerships and resourcing at the World Food Programme (WFP). At the Seoul office, she advocated for increased flexible funds with South Korea’s core government agencies in Official Development Aid and assisted WFP’s program proposals for fragile and conflict-affected states. Facilitating donor engagement with country offices helped Jiyoung understand the importance of accurate data in effectively allocating resources and motivated her to explore data analytics and methodologies. Jiyoung also worked in private partnerships and donations as an Intern at the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) Seoul Office where she managed preliminary data for the face-to-face fundraising program and communicated with individual donors on key refugee issues. Jiyoung holds a bachelor’s degree in Political Science and Latin American Studies from Korea University and is fluent in English, Korean and Spanish.
