Jacobo Ramos Folch
Jacobo is a second-year Master of Science in Foreign Service (MSFS) student concentrating in Global Business and Finance. He is primarily interested in the intersection of business and government in a changing technological and geopolitical landscape.
Before pursuing graduate studies, Jacobo worked in the Government & Public Affairs division of BBVA Financial Group, one Europe’s largest financial institutions, for two years. He particularly focused on corporate strategy, engaging with Spanish and European policymakers, and preparing key meetings for the senior leadership (including the Davos Forum). He also worked at Representative Tim Ryan’s Office in United States Congress and as a Campaign Fellow at Hillary Clinton’s campaign.
Jacobo graduated Summa Cum Laude from King’s College London, where he studied European Politics, with a focus on Germany. He spent his third year at the Humboldt University in Berlin and worked as an intern at the German Parliament (Bundestag).
Jacobo grew up in Barcelona and to pursue his studies at Georgetown, he obtained ‘La Caixa’ Fellowship, Spain’s most competitive scholarship program. He is fluent in Spanish, German, and English, and has intermediate proficiency in French.
"I chose MSFS because it is worldwide the number one graduate program in International Affairs. Located in Washington DC, the heart of international policy-making, I am attracted by the small class size, the diversity of courses on offer, and to study with some of the most preeminent scholars and practitioners."
